Mel Kiper has Dolphins taking C.J. Mosley in latest mock draft

Id be okay with that pick if all of the top O-linemen are gone OR as long as round 2 and 3 are O-line picks.

The injury concerns worry me a bit, but I like the player and he is worth the 19th pick.

i'm gonna go back and watch 5 more games of his and then decide...spent so much time focused on oline i may have missed something...i feel pretty confident this is on the board when we pick so why not give it another look see

^^^Thanks! Also let me know if you also see alot of Brandon Spikes in him or perhaps its just me.

Wouldn't mind picking Mosley, but as I have mentioned several times, he doesn't have that "it" factor. Just seems to be good enough, much like our roster.

well i can tell ya already that he's .3 faster and a much better cover lb...ones a 3 down lb the other was and is a 2 down guy who gets torched if asked to cover...but i'll let you know what i see...scouting report style ha ha

Our pass defense was mediocre as well, despite Carroll improving quite a bit (though Jones's decline counteracted that). Now we are relying on Finnegan returning to his old form, and I mean 3 or so years ago form, and rookies stepping up. Of course, pass rush is most important, so hopefully Jordan contributes this year. That still leaves our LBs as a huge liability.

Even then, I wonder how much of Jones' decline had to do with the horrid LB play.

I just watched the Georgia game. Mosley is solid in all areas. He's not the wrecking ball type MLB, but he is instinctual, plays smart, and is fundamentally solid in all areas. He had some nice plays tracking down the ball carrier from the opposite side of the field. Seems like a high motor type.

A lot of this also prob hinges on what the coaches think about Jenkins and his role on the defense. Im not comparing the two players, but if the coaches feel fine with Jenkins in a limited role spelling one of the three more vet guys they might not be as high on Mosley.

Would love the pick. Why grab the 4th best tackle at that pick when we can grab the best ILB. which btw is a big need as well.

We must have been watching two different teams. Our defense as a whole carried this team. We were ranked bottom 5 in every single major offensive category and yet managed an 8-8 record. Our defense carried this team in at least 12 of our games, playing good enough to win. If we had even an average offense, we would have been able to pull 10 wins out of our ass.

Did we have weaknesses? Of course. Very few teams resemble what the Seahawks had last year. But make no mistake, anyone who thinks our defense was a PROBLEM wasn't watching the same Dolphins team.

With that said, I'm not against the pick as our LB was mediocre *at best*, but we do need major improvement on the OL more than anywhere else on this team.

Personally i think a OL or WR would help us more then any other position. TE would help too ebron
