Merged 5x: Quintin Williams Arrested for DUI/Drag Racing

Goodbye Quintin. I had high hopes for you after watching you perform at Wake. But Saban won't put up with this crap. Tillman shouldn't face any punishment, he was just a passenger.

Man I just read the headline on teh front page that said "williams" and I thought Ricky had gotten a DUI on the drive down!!!

you break the law, you're a criminal. Why are you trying to justify DUI? I don't care if it's 3 or 4 beers. Would you allow someone you love to get in the car w/ someone over the limit? Simple question.

I think criminal is a strong word. If we use that literal definition you gave above, we're all criminals, since few if any of us haven't gotten a traffic ticket before. And criminal seems to imply that someone willingly makes a habit of breaking the law (not necessarily by you, just public interperatation).

I'm not excusing what he did though. I just wouldn't label him a "criminal" just yet. He's got no priors (that we know of). And I don't know the guy personally. He could be a good kid who did something really really really stupid one day of his life. But this move doesn't anything for his character, that's for sure. Or his future employment with the Miami Dolphins.

Okay maybe it's too strong of a word because he didn't kill anyone yet. Let's wait til he kills someone and then label hiom a criminal

They should take away his license for years. The streets of florida are dangerous enough with all the senior citizens. I'd rather take my chances w/ them than the like of potential killers like DUI drivers.

Williams is gone -- only question whether it happens after Saban meets with him or after the legal process runs its course.

Tillman will be in Saban's doghouse for not putting a stop to that whole situation. Riding shotgun with a legally-drunk teammate drag racing down an interstate, and then going home with the "cheerleader" he beat is horrible judgment.

Would you feel different if the article was about how they crashed into a family of 5 killing all of them?

Bro... it was at 4 in the morning! The road was completely empty I am sure... It wasnt like he was weaving in and out of traffic in the middle of the day through a school zone with kids peddling their bikes across the street.

BUT... dont get me wrong here... It definatly was not smart to do when you have had a beer or 2. (plus... racing is askin to get pulled over... not something u wanna do period when you have had a couple of beers).

It was stupid... But I was just sayin it isnt as serious as some people were acting. They were talkin about it like he went on a killing rampage or something... criminal?

Criminal is a completely fair assessment of what happened. Quintin Williams was arrested. People who get popped going 40-in-a-35 do not get taken to jail for that alone.

You mean OJ? I think you should take that up w/ the last team he played for ,the 9'ers. In case you haven't realized, he was long gone from the bills when he committed the crime.

It isn't serious because he didn't kill anyone? Stop trying to defend what could've been a potential murdurer. He knew the law, he knew what the consequences were and yet he made his choice. I bet you'd be singing a differet tune if he ever killed anyone.
