Merged 5x: Quintin Williams Arrested for DUI/Drag Racing

Nope,

when I was younger and dumber (a year or so older than you are now) I got pulled over for going through a small town at 55mph. The cop immediately smelled alcohol on my breath and had me do a field sobriety test. I didnt do very well so he gave me a breathalyzer on the spot. I blew exactly a 0.80 and the cop was a nice guy so he parked my car in the town's parking lot and drove me back to the bar so I could ride home with friends (with strict instruction to not move my car before the next day or he would have a bench warrant issued for my arrest). My point is... I was most definately impaired at 0.080 and could not easily pass a field sobriety test. And, just by seeing my bloodshot eyes and smelling my breath the cop knew I had been drinking.

At 0.08? haha damn. I guess its cause I am still in college and have a larger tolerance to alcohol (you know how much us college kids drink  ). Thats so wierd that you would be that impared at such a low level. i mean if you blew exactly a 0.080... then you were still legally allowed to drive (that is the limit... over is illegal). Guess a few of you are just light weights :rofl3: haha just kidding. I am just shocked to hear that people are that effected at such a low level. Me and my friends have WALKED up to campus cops while drunk and talked to them for a lil while. since we were doing nothin illegal, we told them we were drinkin earlier and asked if we could blow a breathalizer (my 2 friends were betting who was drunker out of the 2  ) One blew a 0.10 and one blew a 0.11. I blew a 0.10. Anyway.. the cops had no idea before we told them that we were drunk. Thats why I am in such shock that people could be that VISABLY drunk at such a low level.

Nasty

Who cares what it read? What made him go way over the speed limit endangering peoples lives. Was it not the alcohol? Would he have done what he did if he wasn't drunk? Maybe, maybe not but since he was above the limit it's safe to say he was. He was arrested , found guilty, nuff said.

Dam, he was found guily already? The legal system in Fla. is pretty fast....

UM HELLO! guys i bet it probably took at least an hour for him to get to the police station and blow into the breathilizer. now lets think, he probably had at least 4 beers;we are assuming that he was pulled over right after he got out of the bar/club. lets assume that it was an hour after he got out of the club, now add another hour to get to the police station. now we are looking at 5 beers. i am not a saint myself, but one thing i do know, if I was gifted with the talent to be able to play in the NFL i would not be risking it by drag racing after having 4-5 beers. drag racing for one is stupid, and for two drinking and driving after that many beverages is stupid, and for three the combination of both of those is well u get the point....

Please lets don't share your DUI stories...flashbacks aren't good

who said that they were visably drunk, the officer probably asked him to take a breathilizer, he said that he has the right to be under proper lighting and a firm even ground, thats why they went to the police station to blow...

Ok, first of all we are getting pretty far off subject...

Yes what he did was STUPID, Dangerous, and illegal. However, No one did get hurt. He will face the consequences of his actions. AND hopefully he has learned from this mess and won't do it again. Shoot if some kid learns from this and won't do it in the future now... then it is almost worth while (considering no one was hurt).

Anyway, back on subject... Do you think Saban will just cut him? Or ride him real hard in camp to make an example of him? Or maybe cut Tillman and him just to show you should not even be in position to do something like this?

Actually, I was surprised that I only blew a .08 because I had been drinking for a while and had just finished a round of shots, but thats what the machine said. As for being legal at .08, you are correct that that is right at the limit for driving under the influence, but cops can make a judgement call that you were driving "impaired". You would stand a good chance of beating the rap, but you would still spend the night in jail. Its kind of a safety net to get people off the streets, at least for the moment, that have a lower tolerance to alcohol.( or other drug)
I do know that I didnt even think about slowing down when I entered that town, and I was obviously impaired so I accepted the cop's offer to leave my car parked till morning.

no... the cop definatly should stop a person if they are visably drunk no matter what the machine says. i was just suprised that you would be visably drunk, which is pretty drunk, while under the "safe to drive" limit set by the state (or country)

You never had 3 beers and drove home? That's pretty much what .087 is the equivalent to. You must live in the Mall of America or be Amish pal!
your calculations are off.

He's had more than 3 beers.

I have never driven over 111 mph after 3 beers.

This isn't about bills or fins guys. If Losman was caught doing the same thing, I say he should be made to pay for his actions.

Not technically but as soon as those nos. are presented as evidence, he's good as guilty.

Ballsdeep said 3. Considering that he had taken the test at the station he must've had more than 6 based on you calculation, no?

If the troop didn't administer the breathlyzer in the correct fashion of didn't cross all the T's and dot all the I's those numbers might be thrown out. Unfortunately I've seen pro athletes/rich mofo's walk in ish like this. drunken driving is one of the crimes that thres is no excuse for. and when someone does die, it's never the ******* driving drunk but the innocent victim going about their B I
