my mistake :goof:
i wonder about Donnie Jones.... i mean, is he really good or just a guy that Saban knew he could call b/c he wouldn't get drafted, so if we needed punter help, we'd get it?

i was only impressed by one of his kicks on saturday....

That sounds exactly why. Also, competition is always a good thing, no matter what the position.

Did ok? Check his stats at LSU

Couple of hundred other guys ? How many of them QB's? Remember Saban slamming his last LSU QB as 'not that good' during his introduction press conference.

Sage is not the answer unless we only plan to play scrimages or preseason games. In those, he seems to excel. SkapePhin hit the proverbial nail on the head concerning Sage.

IMO, Feeley can't get past the mental mistakes. You can correct technique but you can't make a QB smarter.

stats in college..wooo!! LOOK AT JASON WHITE AND TIMMY CHANG ok? they balled in college but where are they now?

You said Rohan did ok in college.. all Celtkin did was make you look foolish in responding to your false statement.

you completely missed what i was saying. i never said he did ok in college, i could care less how he did in college. my point is that he's getting cut by the best coach in the game. if he was as good as everybodys hyping him up to be, do you think bill belichek would waive him?

Ok you guys/girls... At the moment we have 2 career backups going at it to be our starter. To be honest with you, I think its senseless to bring in another one. Im not really sure why everybody is getting so excited about this guy. Ok he played for Saban at LSU, but so did a couple hundred other guys and nobody is talking about any of them. Personally I think we have a damn good quarterback in Sage. I think If given a fair shot, Sage could unseat Feeley or Frerotte...but then again I dont thats really hard to do the way they have been playin all pre season. What do you guys think??

If Sage is so God damn good then why has he spent so much time during his career holding a clipboard and throwing awful inconsistent passes during the pre-season. Go figure squeen17.

if rohan wasn't good enough for the super bowl champions and couldn't make their 3rd string, why the hell should we bring him in?

he sucks.

I love how people comment on a guy they have never seen played before. There have been many QBs at LSU (not quite 200!), but not one of them has ever played as well as Davey. I had seen Davey often at LSU and he was awesome. He reminded me of Culpepper a lot. I definitely think he has more potential than any QB on the roster right now.

I don't know exactly what it is you base that on and I'd guess you really don't either. Belichek seems to disagree with you and we'll see whether our front office thinks you are right about him having more potential than any QB on our roster. Thankfully you are not our GM or Saban.

Davey Reminded you of Culpepper.....

It's not that cut and dry as you make it seem.

Me and others have explained it countless times.

Actually it is that cut and dry.
Bellichek would not cut a QB he believes has potential to be a good starter. N.E. is so enamored with him that they chose to keep 60 yr. old Doug Flutie as a backup and a 7th round draft pick rookie QB who never started in college over him. (Yes, I know Cassels played behind 2 Heisman QB's, nonetheless, Davey was a starter and if he had the high amount of untapped talent some of you believe he has it should be enough to unseat Cassels)

If he is as fantastic as some of the peanut gallery on here assume he is there is no way he could'nt have beat out one of those two to be on the roster........... sorry but that's just plain common sense.

Man, I usually agree with almost everything you say, but I have to disagree with this one. Just your last six words. I think you CAN make a QB smarter. How do you get smarter? Through teachers. That is what our coaching staff will (soon) be known for. Feeley will learn here, IMO.

Beat me to it ^^ :)

Davey had like a 22% preseason Quarterback rating in New England and thats bad. not only taht Saban doesn't want him evidently, read this:
Davey Unlikely To Land In Miami...
Posted on: 2005-08-29

[Palm Beach Post] During his first appearances in front of fans as Dolphins coach, Nick Saban was asked by Rohan Davey's mother when he was going to bring her son back to his native Miami. Saban, who coached Davey at LSU, dodged the question that day but can't now. Davey was released by the Patriots on Monday.

A league source said the Dolphins have not inquired about Davey, who led the Tigers from 2000-01, including the school's first outright SEC title his senior season. He was MVP of the Sugar Bowl that same year.

"Rohan's No. 1 attribute to me was he was a fantastic competitor and a great leader," Saban said. "He was a fantastic leader, probably one of the best I have ever been around."

Davey is unlikely to be in the Dolphins' plans. The 27-year-old was just 5-of-10 for 44 yards and one interception for a passer rating of 22.5 this exhibition season.
