I think the whole speculation of TO coming here has a lot to do with our current situation. We are going to have a boatload of money available. Also, the Dolphin orginization has a very good relationship with TO's agent, Rosenhaus. Given those circumstances, along with a coach that knows how to deal with players with type "A" personalities, it's actually very possible that TO could end up in Miami. Now, would TO come here given our current QB status? It's possible that TO thinks that he can make any QB better, so I'm not so sure that's really an issue. When TO wants to play and is happy, he's the best reciever in football hands down. I think it's a risk worth taking.

Plummer is an up and down QB just because he is doin great this year doesnt mean next year is 4 sure

Granted. But he can throw it better than Gus or sage. All I meant, is that if QB is a huge factor, Den wins, despite Jake's inconsistancy.

You should know the pro-bowl is mostly a beauty contest....do you really think Garcia is a great QB?

hey, Calgary Stampeder fans will tell you he is!!!!
:rofl3: :rofl3:

the first thing I would do if I were a team that T.O. was being considered to play for. I would let him know that until he gets rid of Drew we wont be doing business.

the one thing to consider is this.. I think T.O. is at the point in which he realizes his career might be over if this happens again. if he's ever going to be a model player its going to be his first year back. after that... who knows... but its kind of like when I write up one of my employes for being ******ed (no offense meant to ******s :) but they are usualy on their best behavior for a few months after the write up. :)

I would deffinatly take it!
WRs next year:
1 T.O
2. Chris Chambers
3. Marty Booker
4. Welker
5. Gilmore/Gibson
That would be an amazing lineup.
That would solve our WR issue leaving more room for everything else in the draft.
for people who say that T.O is cancer to a team. You are wrong. Treat him with respect and he will give the team respect. The Eaglles didnt do that hense the problems

I might be reaching here. This might also be a little farfetched however, I don't think this scenario is impossible by any means. (work with me here people)

We'd have to trade Marty Booker for a 3rd for this to work though.

Trades:

Conditional 3rd rd pick in 07 and a 7th in 06 to the Eagles for TO.
or
4th round pick in 06 for TO.

(possibly Sam Madison to not sure which team yet, cause I'm just thinking about this now for a 4th. Maybe a 3rd but I highly doubt that.)

FA Signings:

Julian Peterson: Shores up our LB corps.

Lance Schulters: sign him to a longer contract. He has been are most solid consistant DB.

If and only if Daunte Culpepper is available I say we should get him. Reunite him with Scott Linehan and he can throw the ball to TO/Chris Chambers/McMike/RB/RW/WW.
(If we trade Sam Madison we could use that pick to trade for Culpepper.)

Draft:

1st rd: Michael Juff CB TX or Jay Cutler depending on when we pick.
2nd rd: Jay Cutler QB or Jason Allen CB depending on when we pick.
3rd rd: Maurice Stovall WR Notre Dame. He could play the slot with WW. He is 6'4" with good speed and great hands. Played well in Weis' system with Quinn throwing him the ball.
3rd rd: Daniel Bullocks SS Nebraska. He will be our SS of the future. Will work well in our secondary. Twin Brother to Josh Bullocks just didn't get the hype his brother did.

I'd love to trade down a bit in the 1st round and pick up an extra 2nd round pick for an LT, but I don't think anyone will want to trade up.

What do you guys think?

Back when TO's future was still up in the air and folks were talking about speculative trades, I chimed in saying we did not want TO on our team at any price.

I guess I'm just rethinking the "at any price" part.

Some team is most likely going to get a very good year at a reasonable price out of TO at this point: no one will back up a truck of money at this point, TO is going to have to prove he can play on a team.

If the Dolphins set up the contract correctly... low salary with performance incentives and an easy out after the season... I have no problem seeing TO come to the Dolphins.

I wouldn't mind being the team that benefits from TO having to prove he can play well with others in order to get his big payday... just don't overpay year one and don't get stuck long-term.

I agree. I can''t stand the guy. But really, it's too much of an opportunity to pass up! He'll load up the WR core. CC is not a number one, but he'll be one of the best #2s in the NFL automatically. TO instantly makes a veteran or rookie QB a degree or two better, plus we have one of the best running tandems in the NFL. They average over 4 yards a carry without a big WR threat, imagine what they'd do if the secondary had to stay back to cover both TO and CC, McMike? We could be a top 5 Off is one year. This leaves Saban to concenrate the entire draft and FA bolstering the secondary and providing depth at Lb and D tackle. (we could use a stud LT too though)

If we get TO, and saban has the same success in the draft and FA that he did last year in order to improve the D, the I say we're a playoff team next year. Not only that, but we're a division winner to. I have no doubt of that.

No doubt T.O puts us at the or at least in contention for the top of the division, untill I see his name on the dotted line I still doubt he will be here

I wouldnt be surprized if MIami ends up with Winning the AFC EAST next year.
We have so much money in cap that i say we get 4 nasty players in Free agents.

WE get Julian Peterson

We get Woodson

We get David Carr or Air Mcnair

We get T.O.

Plus the draft
Jesus this team is goign to be amazing
