Merged: Bennie Anderson RG signed by fins

Well, I don't know much about the guy but his statistics are pretty impressive. He's been a starter every season (5) he's been in the league. He's also got pretty impressive size, 6-5 345lbs. Why wasn't he signed earlier by any other team?

Lets see what he can do.

and of course he didnt do well in Buffalo.....Its BUFFALO. Theyre whole O-line sucks a$$. Now Baltimore had a good O-line, so he was good there. Im sure he will do just fine heree.

by the way, Anderson is a very solid RG and a good pick up. And of course Bills fans hate him NOW.

He had some penalty issues, but Houck can work with him. Bottom line is, he's better than any RG we have on our roster now. Unless Toledo develops QUICK.

Yup, Buffalo's line was pretty terrible and this is one of their castoffs. I'm not sure what this says about some of the other guys we've been discussing at RG (the board collectively, not you and I). Here's hoping for the best, but not getting my hopes up.

Yeah the amazing part is how many castoffs we had in 2005 though. At any given point we had like 16 guys on the 53 man roster that were cut from another team as recently as that year I believe. Alonzo Ephraim is a good example, actually started games for us...and we didn't get him til Wade Smith broke his arm.

So if Bennie ends up in the game as an injury replacement, I won't panic...but if he wins a starting job from Day One, I'd be a little worried.

The good news is if Bennie doesn't beat Seth for the start, he may end up cut outright...cuz Toledo will not be cut even if Bennie proves better than him right now.

Of course he's "good", the Dolphins signed him. We all know whomever the Dolphins sign is a great pickup and whomever they let go, sucks.

I'm glad somebody gets it around here.

There's a reason Bills fans are glad we signed him. Bennie is not very consistent at all...maddening actually...and there's a reason he was still sitting around unsigned.

And why the heck didn't we sign Kendyl Jacox instead? Man that dude must have some serious injury issues.

so you'de doubt the better judgment of Saban/Houck and crew?

Didn't he make the pro bowl with Baltimore a couple years back?

It was the year that Jamal Lewis won the rushing title.

 Nice input

He has a good chance to start considering they're trying to unseat McKinney.. He was brought here to upgrade the Gaurd spot and should do just that.

this is funny. We're trashing Anderson who started 70 of 79 games in his career and he's known as a very solid run blocker. Mularkey coached him in Buffalo, so he must have liked him...Buffalo is going through a lot of changes and cutting a lot of people. Crazy Marv has lost his mind...he had a horrible draft and a terrible all around off-season. Don't worry about WHY Buffalo cut him. They've been doing a lot of wierd things under Marv.

And the fact that some of you would rather have MCKINNEY? over Anderson is odd, to say the least.

I don't think he made the pro bowl but he was generally thought of as pretty solid in Baltimore.

Tell that to the 32 GMs that until now, June 14th, have been telling Anderson "If the phone doesn't ring, it's me"
