Merged: Bennie Anderson RG signed by fins

Tell that to the 32 GMs that until now, June 14th, have been telling Anderson "If the phone doesn't ring, it's me"

He hasn't been a FA for THAT long. And 31 other GM's don't have Seth McKinney starting at RG for them.

I'll trust in what Saban is doing over what Crazy Marv does.

He wasn't a FA this whole offseason. He was released by Buffalo on the 9th.

Well, I don't know much about the guy but his statistics are pretty impressive. He's been a starter every season (5) he's been in the league. He's also got pretty impressive size, 6-5 345lbs. Why wasn't he signed earlier by any other team?

Lets see what he can do.

b.c he was just released a few days ago

Yeah the amazing part is how many castoffs we had in 2005 though. At any given point we had like 16 guys on the 53 man roster that were cut from another team as recently as that year I believe. Alonzo Ephraim is a good example, actually started games for us...and we didn't get him til Wade Smith broke his arm.

So if Bennie ends up in the game as an injury replacement, I won't panic...but if he wins a starting job from Day One, I'd be a little worried.

The good news is if Bennie doesn't beat Seth for the start, he may end up cut outright...cuz Toledo will not be cut even if Bennie proves better than him right now.
Could the loser of this competition get cut either way? I mean if Bennie does beat out Seth, do we cut him? Or keep him, move him back to center as Hadnot's backup and release Wade Smith?

Cutting cut from a sub-500 team isn't very impressive.
Add in that team had a horrible OL and it's an Olineman that was released?

We signed Bennie Anderson to hopefully compete for the starting RG position.

It starts in the trenches people! I'm glad someone in the organization finally found this out. Bennie Anderson is huge! He's also got some experience and when the houckster gets a hold of em', what'cha gonna do?!

Barffalo is changing their schemes which is why he got cut.

They just released there best o-linemen. Mcnally is an overrated o-line coach. Houck came in here and put together a good o-line in 1 year. Mcnally has had a couple of years to do something with the Bills o-line and they got worse. Anderson is a very good run blocking guard. He will beat out Mckinney for the right guard job with ease.

Stop that, you should know better than to make sense in here.

If Bennie starts, our OL will be the biggest in the NFL.

LT- L.J. Shelton 6-6 345
LG- Jeno James 6-4 320
C- Rex Hadnot 6-2 325
RG- Bennie Anderson 6-5 345
RT- Vernon Carey 6-5 335
