Cowboys just released QB Brad Johnson (per NFL Live).

Could that setup a trade for John Beck? I could see a draft day trade in the works.

They wont be trading for Beck with the plans of him being the backup to Romo. They will bring in another veteran for that role. Anyone who trades for Beck(which I doubt anyone will do) will do so to have him as a 3rd string project. Beck blows.

I saw something somewhere that the boys were tryin to send us Roy Williams(safety) in exchange for Beck and Miami was saying no...now that we have the safety spots filled the boys will have to come up with something better.

Oh nooooooooo... /cry here we go again. Taking bets how many pages this one will go?

I say 11 :) j/k

Agreed that Garcia is a better option, but heres hoping that our dallas connections steals us a nice draft pick for Beck if this happens.

Either that or some type of combo trade for one of several players we might have our eye on from the boys'.

Because Garcia can probably still get a starting job out there somewhere. Or at least a shot. He's not going to go to Dallas where he's guaranteed to sit.

Where?

AFC East- nope
AFC West-nope
AFC North- KC maybe but Thigpen is pretty decent
AFC South - Tenn only if they don't re-sign Collins
NFC East- Nope
NFC North- Det has Culpepper, Chic has Orton so maybe
NFC West- Ari if they don't re-sign Warner, SF likes Hill
NFC South- nope

So where will he go, all the teams have guys in place and Minn just traded for Sage.

Minnesota i think is a definite option,

I heard the 49ers had interest in him too.

I'm sure Oakland is possible, as it is for every free agent.

The Jets just lost Favre, maybe they bring on a veteran to have an open competition with Clemons.

Anyone who claims to have a clue about what other teams think of players around the league are just guessing, no need to take those people seiously.

Garcia will not sign somewhere to sit and watch. Beck will be an option as the Cowboys have reportedly shown interest in the past.
