Merged: Brad Johnson released by Cowboys - Beck?

As I always had said, I do not believe in a trade between John Beck and the Dallas Cowboys. Can just not see any good value in it.​

But in these days you never know so perhaps the door is slightly open for a trade anyway.​

Miami needs to see if Tampa or Detroit want John Beck. Take what you can get.

If they did, it would have to be a pick for next year. The Cowboys are short on picks this year.

That is not true. The Cowboys actually have 8 picks for the 2009 draft.

Apparently Brooks Bollinger is a free agent and with the release of Brad Johnson, the Cowboys only had Romo on the roster. So, by trading for Kitna, they still only have two quarterbacks on their roster. The Cowboys traded Anthony Henry for Kitna, so they did not surrender a draft pick.

With Romo and Kitna as their quarterbacks, they could very well still look to add a young QB to the mix. They have two 4th round picks and two 5th round picks, so they do have the ammo to get Beck. If the Cowboys called and offered a 5th round pick, I am sure Miami would pull the trigger.
