MERGED:Brock Berlin/Don't bet against Berlin

Berlin is a clown he's undersized for an nfl qb and his penchant for throwing the ball up for grabs is totally unaceptable at this level, admitedly berlin was better last season than the year before when he was truely appalling but he has done nothing to suggest he will ever be more than a practise squad/third string player

I am sure alot of you watched Brock Berlin played last Mon night vs Chicago. His passing look soo good before int in end zone.

Berlin will be Fins future start begin next year or 2 years later.

His nickname The Berlin Wall how about that??[/QUO

Come on, please. he locked onto every receiver he threw to, and against 3-4 string players you can get away with that. If he was so good he should of lite it up in UM with all that talent.

I watched every game that Brock played for UM.

My opinion is that he has a lot of talent but he locks in on his receivers and will try to force the ball in way too often

this is where kwality coaching comes in... his talent can be utilised and his bad habits can be lost thru coaching.

he is a determined young man with a will to succeed.

Considering he had ZERO running game and a CRAPPY OL last year, he did as well as he could. Look at his numbers and realize no RB did anything, we shuffled WRs because they all choked and the OL gave him less time then ours gave Feeley.

I though Brock was awesome last year considering what he had around him.

when he was driving on the bears my friend is a Miami U fan and he was like how come i never saw this from him before

You're friend isn't a huge cane fan then because Brock did that at least 3 times last year.

Yeah, of course many U fans put on the blind fold when it came to Berlin's major improvement his senior year. He never shook off all of the negative sentiment he gained his junior year.

I agree with you about Brock. I honestly don't think he looked any worse then any of our other 3 QB's. Granted he wasn't playing the starting D, but still, he had good field presence, made some nice throws (except for the interception), and just put up some good numbers. I hope we keep him around for a couple of years and see how he develops.

he did look impressive, but remember it was against people that probably arent even gunna make the Bear's 53 man roster...

Nasty

He was also playing with guys who won't make our 53 man roster either........ With what we have at qb, he isn't that far off.....

Absolutely. However considering people's expectations consist on making cracks about him throughout the offseason, he did fine.

His best chance is the PS IMO. I don't think he can beat out Sage who himself has done a decent job in games. Unless Saban can somehow trade Sage for a draft pick and he feels that Berlin has the tools to play in the NFL, I just don't see him making the 53 man squad. I liked how he played and I'm rooting for the kid to continue to shine. I have a feeling that against Jax he's going to show us what he's really made of one way or another and that will ultimately decide if he gets enough playing time.
