MERGED: Cam Wake gets paid

I'm happy for Wake, he plays his heart out on Sunday's and deserved an extension. Perhaps Ireland will now move on to seriously getting deals done with Long and Hartline, both of whom were talked about after the season along with Wake as players Ireland had reached out to, in an attempt to get them signed to deals to stay with Miami. IMO I'm not sure Sean Smith and Tony McDaniel will be resigned. Starks IMO should also get resigned, he provides experience and leadership along the D-Line.

Who besides Vince Wilfork and Revis is a more formidable divisional defender than Wake?? !!! Good job Ireland.

Ireland and the Dolphins are on a role. A fantastic draft and now locking up the best player on the defense for the future.

Now it puts the Dolphins in a great position with Jake Long. If they don't come to terms before free agency next offseason, the franchise tag is now available to use. My only question is how does Miami sign Wake to this new deal and sign the draft picks with what was left in the cap. Hopefully some players restructure and no one gets cut.
