Merged:Chambers getting some respect/Jets fans talking about Chambers

Randy Moss & Chad Johnson are two receivers off the top of my head that get shut down when up against Surtain ans Madison....

So it happens

Dont forget about Tory Holt :cooldude:

Nasty

I don't see #1 reciever by total number of catches, total number of yards and total number of touchdowns. Those numbers do help, but to be a good number one I see percentage of catches, yards and touchdowns. Plus big plays.

When I look at the stats, as this Tampa fan is looking at, I see:

1- These Offenses, these receivers, this fan has claimed have passed an avg of 53 % of the time.

2- Miami has been passing an avg of 48% of the time since 2001- 2003, they have run 52% of the time. We were a run first Offense then.

3- In 2004, the OL with no running game and no blocking scheme, had no time to block. We passed more (60%) of the time, but it was for short yardage, since Defenses were in the box.

4- Chambers should be able to have clear room to roam, if RB and the OL do their parts.

Pardon Me??

Chambers has had ONE good game against Buffalo, and it was 4 years ago, his first game against us. The year we went 3-13 (101 yards, 2 TDs.)

In the 6 games since then:

23 yds 1TD
49 yds 1TD
51 yds 1TD
23 yds 1TD
17 yds 0TD
48 yds 0TD

Thats hardly what I would call abuse
Your right, about abuse, but may I correct that he had 49 yds, and 1 TD on that last game against Buff last year.

So that's is 5 TDs in 6 games, forget about the yardage, points are what counts...

Chambers is kinda inconsistent...When you put a premiere cornerback against him, het gets literally shut down.

Look at the Eagles game we played 2 years ago, how they took him out of his game..He has trouble getting seperation against good CB..That's a fact...
Actually in the shoot out between Philly and Miami, when Philly won 34-27 against Miami, Chambers made some big plays, I don't agree with the premiere cb thing either, He just needs a qb that will throw the ball down the field and is somewhat accurate. Feely never threw a deep ball, from very little time, and confusion because he was new to the system, and because the system was pretty ****ty. Chambers burned Baltimore's D in the last gameof the season, they needed that game too, in order to get into the playoffs, they also needed Denver to lose, which they didn't, but they had to beat Miam to even have a chance for the post season, so it's not like their third stringers were playing against Miami unlike, Pittsburgh and Buffalo, who beat Buffalo. Gary Baxter got burned and he is a pretty good cb, along with McCalister who's really good, Chambers had like 146yds on four catches in that game

I should start going under the JETS forum there not biased and it seems they dont start huge arguments and people talk a lot of smack over here:rolleyes: but it is funny sometimes the smack is great;)

Man, that was impressive work by the Jets fans, I might have to join that board, some good football guys there.

They weren't in order, the 49yds 1 TD was in there. The 48 yd 0 TDs was a different game

in 03 lead the AFC in TD's when he had a RUNRUNRUN and sometimes do a little passing offense and a quarter back that could not throw the ball well deep. He also had the highest percentage of a teams Passing TDs since the merger. He also had the most uncatchable throws to him ( fielder). He still had a very good average per catch despite a weak qb. in 04 the qbs and Oline and runing backs were terrible. CC had seven Tds and booker i think one. Now that there will be a decent at worst system and the O-line will be able to block some , both those numbers are gonna go up. The guy can run fast , run routes very well , has very nice hands, is tough and can jump like a flying squirrel. i dont know how bumstedt found him.

BINGO. Living in Tampa for 6 years I have seen this with my own eyes. Its funny because its was like the "in" thing for a while, but then they started to suck again and they all jumped on the lightning bandwagon.

 You said it!

Griese didn't look so bad last season. Perhaps it was the offensive system here?
