Merged: CJ Anderson Super Thread- Offer sheet decision today

I am a strong believer in that defense wins championships. I had that SB nailed down pretty well in terms of predictions. But Manning is a master at defensive identification, play calls, check outs, audibles, etc. Fraudweiller can't read simple coverage's let alone navigate his way through a game.

You're certainly entitled to that opinion of statistics and any QB at he helm could have won. It might hold water like a colander, but you can have it.

I agree that stats aren't the full picture, but he didn't even win the TOP for his defense, nor convert 3rd downs.

1 for 14 on 3rd.
2 turnovers.

Masterful defensive awareness.

I feel like everyone is afraid to say he played poorly in the Super Bowl out of respect for his lifetime achievements or something.

CJ was more important in that game than the person handing off the ball. 2014 Peyton wins that game 45-10. 2015 Peyton was nearly a liability.

Even after trading for Mark Sanchez, Broncos plan to bring in another QB to compete for starting job. Denver not done at QB yet.

If I was a Denver player and I found out Sanchez was really going to be the guy....frik. I know our defense is good and all, but i would question if the coaches are messing with us just to see how good we really are. Cause we'd be on the field a lot.

If CJ is our starter next year, do you think Ajayi will get more or fewer carriers than he did behind Miller?

If Ajayi becomes what he was drafted to be, he'll be a clone of CJ. We still need a scat-back, unless we're gonna let Landry go full "Percy Harvin" and run plays out of the backfield with regularity.

Problem with that is that Landry is still not a home-run hitter. Looks like we'll be drafting that guy in all likelihood.

Theres no way Sanchez is their solution to this whole issue. There's rumors going around they might use Sanchez as part of a trade for Kaep. I'd say its highly likely we have CJ Anderson as our starting RB next season. A downgrade from Miller, but not by much.

CJ Anderson in NOT a downgrade from Miller. He is better than Miller.

Don't know about better....Miller had the jets and CJ I think will be much better between the takles for those short tuff yards... they are both young which is nice...

NFLN was saying that C.J. might be a better back against the defenses in our division like the Jets,Bills,Pats because he's a power back so they were saying he really fits our team.

But Sanchez is All-World, how can this be?

Elway-- Just DON'T start him in the AFC championship!!!

They have to pick up a second QB to come in and play in the playoffs.

"....uhh hey Peyton... you gotta second? It's John... How's it going, buddy?"

Doubt it

When asked if Denver matches Miami.

If Denver tagged him with 2nd round tender, his salary is set for 2016, right? Then he's a free agent in 2017. So maybe they don't want him making a fortune coming off a huge year in 2016 since Hillman won't be back. So they let some other team set his price in a long term deal. Miami did that. Now Denver needs to figure out if he's worth it.
If all the above is correct, not tendering him doesn't mean they don't want at any cost, right?

They still are going after another QB. They could hypothetically extend Von Miller to lower his cap number in year one, but that's not probable. $6m in year one is a pretty coin for the Broncos to match. They would have second round tendered him if they wanted him. But they also could have just wanted someone (ala Miami) to do the dirty work on the negotiations. In essence, it's a small position pill the dolphins are offering for CJ Anderson so it makes him less attractive for Demver to match. Happened with Charles Clay and the Bills, but we all see how that ended up. If CJ comes here, I hope for the best.

I do believe CJ could be a better rb than Lamar. If this team decides to do a 60-40 run and pass ratio, I think he can put up some good numbers.

Don't know if its been covered cuz Im at work

But what does Denver taking on Sanchez' contract do to their cap situation. Does it make them less likely to be able to match our CJ sheet?
