Miller can't make the runs Anderson made in the Superbowl.
Indeed...nice to have that speed, but really that is Millers whole game....doesn't bteak tackles or get the tough yardage.
I like Andersons style better in this league.

Denver's line was average at best last year in the run game. CJ was still the more efficient runner over Lamar despite battling foot and ankle injuries for most of the year.
And Anderson can't make tons of runs we've seen Miller break off for huge gains. If i recall, Anderson didn't do much of anything in the super bowl until very late

Against the best front 7 since 2000 Ravens.
Miller, like he did against all AFC east foes would've struggled due to him not being in space.

Which is still more than Miller did in the super bowl. I said it before and I'll say it again. Everyone is worried about losing Millers "home run" potential, but his home run potential didn't help us win too many games. Is that Millers fault? Of course not. But why pay more money for one running back, instead of a cheaper (but still effective) running back and save money to improve other areas of the team?

He might of had some big runs but he also tried to do too much and lost 7 yards multiple times and killed the drive

He made big runs in the 1st half - including the first drive, which led to a FG. That first drive was a big deal. The narrative was that Carolina's D would destroy Denver's O, and for the most part they did, but getting that early lead - even if just by three points - made the Panthers press, and you can't press against an elite D. He helped start the game, and he helped put the game away.
It's not Miller's fault the line was constantly letting dudes through in the backfield..
This is also a complaint about Lamar that is just untrue. He developed a ton as a player since being a rookie and became much better in all areas of his game.
That is a true and very fair point. But I just thought it was hilarious to bring up CJ's super bowl performance as if it was anything of value. He constantly was having 1,2,3 yard gains and finally got lucky and broke off that long run.

Ya i agree the oline didnt do him any favors but there's a difference in a 2 yard loss and a 7 yard loss. He tried to make something happen that just wasnt there. Its hard to keep a drive going when you lose that much in one play
People focus on the times Lamar got hit in the backfield like it was an every down occurrence or like other backs are not hit in the backfield on other teams. Like he just dodged three guys and took it for 80 while breaking five tackles every snap.
Lamar is a very straightforward back. He has never been a tackle breaking back, he is not smash mouth, he is an inconsistent WR . . . Doesn't mean he cant catch and run, but its not a real strength of his and he certainly isn't a Reggie Bush back who makes his name on making people miss in the backfield (or at least tries to). He is adequate in pass protection.
Lamar is VERY dependent on his offensive line opening holes . . . What makes him special is, if you give him a crease he has the vision to find that crease and the jets to burst through and avoid untimely tackle attempts and the long speed to take it the distance every time he touches the ball.
That last part is truly just icing on the cake for what you want in your RB and it gets touted like its the most important thing.
