Merged: CJ Anderson Super Thread- Offer sheet decision today

Don't know if it was posted yet but just read on rotoworld that our offer to him has a 5 million dollar signing bonus due March 31st. This will make it very hard for Denver to match... they wont have the money free to pay him that in 2 weeks

I disagree Buff. Anderson can be pretty good - he's not that fast but he's tough and quite physical. He can be dominant when he gets on top, e.g. the Denver game against the Dolphins in 2014 when he rushed for over 200 yds.
BTW - Did you get down to Shark Park? Huge Cronulla win - LOL.

Spike, get a dog up ya.

I have copped it since yesterday...don't need any more thanks buddy

Oh come on uk, youre better than that.

The guy was the starting rb for a super bowl winning team who had an awful qb, not something to just dismiss when comparing him to a rb who to this point has not been elite

I dont see where dallas thomas is 2 yards deep in the backfield off the snap or beaten to the spot laterally in those

No...but Denver hardly had an elite line last year.

I would think you would be an outside observer that would acknowledge CJ as a more complete all around back...and certainly a tougher runner than Lamar Miller.

But to say "well he's at least been to a super bowl" - so therefore he's already better than someone who's hasn't been to the SB is just incredible crazy.

By that logic anyone who has been there is better than anyone who hasn't. Is Rex Grossman better than Tannehill?

I'll give you that- he is one tough dude. Small compact and powerful

a lot of the starters certainly tend to be above average

To further clarify my prior comments, I'm not saying that Anderson is better because he was on a Super Bowl team. I'm not even saying that he is better, period.

But, having Miller hasn't brought us any closer to the super bowl, I'd rather his money went to other positions where we have greater holes

To me....in regards to running backs...you win with tough backs who get the tough yards even when your opponent knows your going to run it....you impose your will and physically dominate them.

Larry Csonka did that, John Riggins did that...Marshawn Lynch did that.

CJ Anderson did that....Lamar Miller can't.

Nothing wrong with going Thunder-Thunder with CJ and Ajayi.

Not at all, this was the best thing this new staff could of done IMO.

This is why I wanted Zeke in the 1st rnd.

For our team to have a fighting chance, IMO we need a legit run game that we can use relentlessly. Tire out the defense, keep our defense off he field, keep pass rushers off tannehill, give tannehill more play action opportunity and less drop backs, amd also tire out defenses in the 4th quarter which IMO is what contributed to a lot of losses under Philbin.

Defenses looked fresh against us all game.

This why i pushed hard for Zeke in the draft forum, it's the easiest way for us to cover up our weaknesses, but CJ will do just fine.

A fresh Ajayi running with his barbaric running style right after CJ has been plugging away is the last thing. Tired defense wants to see.
