Merged: Davey or Couch

Of the two? Couch, because he has started in this league. Davey on the other hand, has never started, nor has he ever been higher than 3rd on the depth chart.

I say at least give Sage a chance,or bring in one of these 2 guys WE NEED HELP
 
rohan davey.....big arm....seems poised...old college coach already with team that can claim him right a way.

at this point its too late to bring anyone in. noones gonna learn this offense in time to help us. might as well settle in for another tough year, ride it out with who we got and draft a qb with our first. we also need to draft two offensive linemen next year

I disagree!
With F and F as our qb's, and without Ricky...what are our chances for the 4 first games of the season??
I say bring in Couch and have him learn the system, and by week 5 Couch could have had enough time to learn the system and Ricky would be back.
 
All I have to say is thats what we get for signing 2 backup Qb's. Finding a diamond in the rough is almost like winning the lottery, the odds just aren't there!!
 
Couch was a #1 overall talent. The talent is there. We could bring him in this year, and then next year draft a QB with Couch going in as the starter. If Couch comes from nowhere,and plays really well, then we have a very good problem a la San Diego.
 
Couch never had a chance in Cleveland. That team wasnt rebuilding... man was BUILDING FROM SCRATCH... poor talent around him, poor coaching.. etc... and bad technique..

He's a low cost alternative that comes with an upside that AJ and Gus havent earned.
 
Only desperately stupid teams cut their no 1 and 2 QB on the final week of preseason.
 
This is not Madden Football. You don't just go out and grab a guy with good ratings and then throw him out there and he plays great. In the NFL it is all about knowledge and excecution of the offense when it comes to the QB position. So then we are stuck with the QB's that have been here and have practiced in the offense all off season (for now).

So with that said yes there are some guys out there that you can sign for future consideration to start at QB for us...but let it be 100% clear if we sign Couch or Davey (or whoever) tommorow and even if he looks good in practice there is no way he starts a game for us for a month or two at least!

The bottom line is we are just not very good at the QB position this year and I tend to agree with some that Sage might as well get a shot....though I am dissapointed that one of our 25 coaches did not see this lack of ability to execute the offense by our QB's and say "hey maybe we need to give Sage a chance to run with the first team offense in the pre-season to see how he does" I really hate going into the regular season with this kind of piss poor situation at QB.
 
take both, cut feeley and carry 4 qbs, lord knows we'll end up needing them with how our Oline looks.

Oh, I get it!! :smackhead Swap two garbage QBs for somebody else's garbage QBs less than 10 days before the start of the season!!! Couch is a big-time flop. Davey lost his job to midget almost old enough to be a grandfather!!! What makes you think either of these two never-weres would be better than what you have on your current roster? :lol:
