MERGED: Dion Jordan suspended 4 games

Well, it's working for the Seahawks. Not that I think they are the only ones, or that it's right.

Does the adderall just help to build muscle (we all knew that he needed to gain some weight) or does it have other effects?

Adderall is a prescription drug designed to help kids with Attention Deficit Disorder ("ADD").

But, it has become hugely popular among athletes because it also does an excellent job of masking steroid use. Now all of a sudden, tons of professional athletes are claiming ADD and trying to get prescriptions for it.

Just ask Richard Sherman how prevalent it is ... He "accidentally" drank a team mate's water bottle just after the teammate - who legitimately had a prescription for Adderall- put Adderall into the bottle but before the teammate drank it ... The water bottles got mixed up! Hard to believe the Seahawks appealed the player's suspension on those grounds.

Well, look at the positive side... If he stays in good shape and keeps up on practicing, he will still be fresh come week 5.... If Wake and Vernon stay healthy, they can definitely hold down the fort, and Dion can ease into things. Come in fresh for a 12 game season....

Ok, yea, it sucks.... But it could be worse. At least it isn't our franchise offensive player being suspended for a full year and opting to retire...

Did the Dolphins brag about getting the best of the Raiders?

Remember when Dolphins bragged about swindling the Raiders on Dion Jordan trade?

So it is really just the masking agent. No wonder he was able to put on 25 lbs of muscle.
Why doesn't the team conduct its own drug tests to monitor our players who have suddenly put on 25 lbs of muscle?

I don't know anything about it being a masking agent, but adderall gives people serious concentration and gives people a sense of time slowing down. I could understand why an athlete would want to take it to get into a zone like that.

Very disappointing. It is almost like the football Gods want the Dolphins to have at least one more bad thing happen to them than other teams. Pouncey gets injured, but then Kiko gets hurt for the Bills. NFL Gods can't have them on the same level, so Dion Jordan gets suspended.

Don't blame the gods, blame another stupid player. Every team has injuries. People were so quick to gloat that Lane Johnson tested positive and now this. Stuff happens though some very good players have been caught. Never liked hims as a pick but I wont pile on any worse than need be.
No excuse though

I don't remember the dolphins doing that, now many of the fans yes. On the surface trade value wise its a great deal but take into account depth of draft and lack of demand for the pick not really

Why? Cause his 2 sacks total last year was the difference in 8-8 and 5-11?

We should have never drafted this guy in the first place. Jeff Ireland...the gift that keeps on giving.

We need to start drafting players that are already fixed in a position, and stop draft guys with the intent of moving them to a different position.
It's almost insane to be doing that with the 3rd overall pick.

Obviously not a good thing, but it's not uncommon in today's NFL and something you just acknowledge as a fan and move on. Both Super Bowl teams last year dealt with the same issue, so it can be overcome. I'm at the point that I don't view a drug related suspension any different than an injury, you hope for the player in question to make it back and you ask for the next guy in line to step up.

Cameron Wake, Olivier Vernon and Derrick Shelby should be ok for four games. This also gives the team a chance to take a longer look at Terrence Fede, who I thought would have a hard time making the 53-man roster.

Pouncey, Philbin's son, Jordan. On the field, these are things the Dolphins can overcome frankly. But, there is some disarray component to this, and after the saga of last season, can the team be held together is an entirely different question.

On the one hand, the upcoming season has the feel of Tony Sparano's last season, which was a "CF" that everyone saw coming that should have led us to a generational talent in Andrew Luck but we couldn't even do that right. On the other hand, this team has considerably more talent so this squad may persevere and get through it all.

Keep one eye on SF and whether Harbaugh gets his extension there. From what I understand they have been negotiating an extension and he may get one there. If not, anything could happen after this season.
