MERGED: Dion Jordan suspended 4 games

i'm wondering if this has to do with trying to gain weight and being thin torsoed having a tough time doing so and needing an edge

i think a lot of thses kids get to the nfl and all of a sudden realize that the weakness they had in college is much more exposed against the super strong, super conditioned pro player of the nfl.

they see all they have done over all those early years of work to get to their dream of playing in the nfl and then right off the bat, it may just go away before it even got started.

so they PANIC!! and they look for ANYTHING that will extend their dream. i think this is what we are seeing out of jordan now. he realizes his rookie year was a bust. the performance and stamina issue on him coming out of college reared their ugly head when facing rock solid pro's. he knew all eye's and all expectation's were on him this season and he went after whatever would help him. i think he realized last eason that the nfl was a totally different ball game [literally] and he may not have the stuff to compete. he went into panic mode and BOOM!! suspended.

so yeah HOOPS, I dont think your far off base at all and you just may be right on the money on why he went the 'roid [most likely] route. his body changed a whole lot in a "short" amount of time.

Damn now I worried about Dallas Thomas he had the same injury and same surgery as Dion Jordan and also saw a lot of improvement just like Jordan did this off season I hope he didn't take PED's also. Being a Dol & Vol fan That would hurt in 2 ways.

has there been any info yet on what drug he used??

Ironic that we go out of our way to draft high character guys and end up with Jonathan Martin and now Dion Jordan.

And I would say this might lend some credence to the trade rumors and why the asking price seemed low, unlike the Bess situation we were probably up front with them.

And this doesn't affect my betting line much, I had us as 8.5 and this nor the Pouncey thing doesn't concern me much. Take away Albert, Wake, Grimes or Tannehill and I probably drop it a game but Jordan was depth and a situational player, maybe worth 1/8th of a game, if that.

This offseason is not inspiring much confidence that we are gonna turn this ship around this season. If we can just not start out 0-4 we can overcome these losses. Obviously Pouncey hurts more though.

So now both Lane Johnson and Dion Jordan are suspended 4 games each for PED's.

I hope the kid can keep the muscle on without the PED's because he still needs to add more.

you sure that's right??? and if he has failed one prior how come we never heard about it??? do they not have to release the offender info on a first time offense???

I'm pretty sure it's not policy to release that a player has failed a first test, though sometimes those reports do leak. The suspension usually occurs after a second offense, with the third offense I think normally (perhaps it's mandated, but I'm not sure), being a year, as Zimmer said.

It's a bit muddled because the performance enhancing suspensions and the substance abuse suspensions work on a bit of a different punishment schedule, though I think in both cases the first test is not usually made public.

I'm not to worried. We have capable DE's and like I said when we drafted him IT WAS NOT A POSITION OF NEED.

He has not been a game changer. His potential is/was unlimited.

I would be more worried if we did not have a replacement. I'd lso be more worried if he was an important piece of a contending team, we have not proven to be a contending team.

Jordan has not impressed me since he became a Dolphin. I'm not one bit distraught over his suspension.

Why? Cause his 2 sacks total last year was the difference in 8-8 and 5-11?

We should have never drafted this guy in the first place. Jeff Ireland...the gift that keeps on giving.
