When did RW ever run away from his children, or be irresponsible in taking care of them??? This last court case was to simply see if he was the father, in which he never even contested. he automatically took responsibilty for the 4th child. It's been made known Ricky is not a dead beat dad.

Being a father involves spending time with your kids. In fact, when he ran away from the team that was one of his excuses (#5, I think). He wanted to spend time with his kids. He wanted to so much that he spent the next two months in a tent, without his kids.

Look, I suffer from many of the same anxieties that RW does (although not as extreme). But I care enough about the people that depend on me that live up to my responsibilities. I don't believe that RW does. I was once told that bravery is not the absence of fear, but rather feeling fear and acting inspite of it. I believe that. And I believe RW is a coward (or maybe he just doesn't care enough about anyone else) for what he has done. It why I don't want him on this team. I would never depend on him and I think the team would be foolish to do so (to any extent).

Classic SAD symptoms relate to social situations not to responsibility. Running away from the children you fathered is not classic. Niether is quitting on the team.

You are, however, missing the point of my original post. What I said was that the pot smoking was not the problem. It was only a symptom.

And my reasons for not wanting him back still exist regardless of the underlying cause. RW is unreliable. It could b/c of cowardice. It could be b/c of SAD. Who cares. I just know that from week to week as the team prepares for the next opponent there is a very strong chance that he'll decide to leave. At that point we'll have lost not only RW, but whatever player(s) we have to cut to make room for him and whatever FA(s) we had to forego to make room for his salary.

I doesn't really matter whether or not you want Ricky Williams back. Saban and Ricky make that decision. Can't you give it a rest. It's all been said before.

Will Ricky even be in shape to play this season??? Ya just know it won't be the same Ricky we saw in 2003....he won't have the same burst, power, speed, or acceleration he once had.... he has 3 months before the season starts and he most likely will be injured during the season. Off season training helps you perform better and last the entire season...not just something to pass the time. I'm expecting that, if he does come back, he won't play alot and may end up on injured reserve at some point.

But responsible dads leave to tour Asia without their kids? Touring Asia, tokin' weed, and hitting up Lenny Kravitz on tour is something you do as a single, childless 22 year old. While he may not be deadbeat, he certainly isn't going to end up on the cover of "Dad" magazine if there were ever to be one.

Actually it does matter. This is a fan forum.....not Ricky and Nicks forum. This is where fans, not trolls, come to discuss their perspective. Or did you not get that memo?

A coward, how can Ricky possibbly be a coward.. DW drove this man absolutely crazy..Anyways, he can be coward as long as he continues to run people over and score TD's and help the Dolphins win..

He drove him crazy? What kind of scapegoat is that. I suppose Tim Bowens should've quit on Dave too. Ya know because his back got so bad after all those years of taking a pounding absorbing blockers in that ugly part of the game - the trenches........just so that our star players could get all the glory and accolades. Give me a break. Ya'll talk about scapegoating Ricky, but Wanny is by no means the sole reason he quit. And let's not forget, had Ricky been a responsible adult, he could've just held out, like the professionals do it when they don't agree with the direction of the team or his contract .........but Ricky decided weed was a priority, so he had no choice, but to quit otherwise having to face the ridicule and suspension from a fourth positive test.

People who run away from responsibilities are cowards. And since when has RW continued to run over people, score TDs or help the Dolphins win? Last I heard he quit. That's the opposite of continuing.

He runs from any responsibility not just social situations. I know we are raised in a society that always shifts the blame for everything, but his social anxiety disorder can't be used to explain away all of his cowardice.
You shouldn't argue about things you know nothing about.:shakeno: You have no idea what is going through Ricky's mind. You obviously know NOTHING about mental disorders. Some of us can sort of comprehend what Ricky is going through. Some are worse than others. Calling Ricky a coward shows that you have no clue what you are talking about. BTW, great example with the autistic reference.:D
