MERGED: Dolphins hire Lazor as new OC

I thought he signed with someone else? Damn, I'm confused but I think I'm happy!

WE'RE GONNA ACTIVATE THE LAZOR!!

Big smile on the Bud-Man's face. I like Lazor though I don't know a ton about him. Sounds like a great hire. Debbie Downers will have to find something else to bitch about! Now, one stud GM and we are set.

Lazor was not on the top of my list, but I like a few things...

1. Chip Kelly liked him to have him on staff.
2. He did something to make Tannehill's fellow 2012 draft mate shine this year.
3. Other teams like Lazor enough to try to get him.

I hope that he works out. We shall see.

To be fair, I think the HC had something to do with the success there. He is pretty good. However, I will give Lazor some credit.

Foles being 6'6" and having McCoy and a good Oline helped his case too

I do like the hire though

For those who asked, ESPN's Ed Werder reported yesterday that Lazor would be named Lions' OC. ESPN's Mortensen says he is new Fins' OC.

Lol. PFT's report on it opens with, "It looks like another Matthew Stafford interception."

That is funny.

Detroit should get Norv Turner. That would be a nice fit.

I like that Lazor was an early interview. It means to me that Joe had initial interest in the guy.

If RT and Moore did great the past few years we'd be praising the QB coach and rightfully so. Lazor definitely gets credit, but yeah it's a team game.

Nublar, you are a machine. That was literally posted 1 second before this thread.

Thats why he got my vote for news hound! There was some excellent other choices there as well.

Interesting, well, he was around a damn good offense this season. We'll see what he brings to the table.

Wow, I thought he went to Lions?

Really would have preferred Kubiak. Not sure why they didn't show more interest in him.

That being said, cautiously optimistic with this hire. Labor did good work with Foles and hopefully he can bring over some of Kelly's concepts

Play calling duties?

Maybe OR maybe we can add Ed Werder to the list of bad reporters. There is plenty of room for him on the raft with Laconfora, Florio, Omar and Heath Evans.
