MERGED: Dolphins re-sign Soliai to 2 year deal

Looks like Gardener was 295 last time he played, per nfl.com. A quick google search has him as heavy as 330 or so during his stay with Miami, but it doesn't specify if that was his playing weight or if that was just the heaviest he weighed in at. Wilfork is listed at 325 and he plays DT in NE's 4-3 alignment without issues. I don't see why anyone would expect Soliai to have issues with it, especially considering how often he did so last year...

Gardener was definitely well above 300. All people talked about was the combined weight of Timbo and Gardener, and how nobody could move them. He weighed 295 when he attempted a comeback after 2 back surgeries. He wasnt on the Fins at that point.

Yeah, there goes all the money we saved with Marshall. Glad to have him back, but don't want to spend too much on a guy that plays 2 downs. Will be interestig to see just how they use him this year.
He allows the rest of the defense to operate. Also there's no better NT in free agency. If rumors of a 12M/2years contract are truth it was a great move from our FO.

Paul Soliai is a monster the interest from other teams didn't grow over night. Not the most consistent but Top 10 NT on my list. Good resign Phins.

Reality here. Dolphins now have only about $6 Million in Cap space after Paul's Contract and subtracting out expected Rookie money, CK just tweeted.

Did I mention we still need a QB???????

Can't complain about a player taking less money to stay on the team he loves. Classy.

I add my Kudos to the FO for this one. After hearing about "the incident" and its potential implications and this, I'm back to "wait-and-see" mode.

wow, looks like nobody wanted him out there...

Took less to stay in Miami.....great job by Ireland and Paul's agent. Only 4 million cap hit this year.
