MERGED: Dolphins Select Wright in 5th Round

Nobody wanted to give a 1st-3rd round pick for him (He is going to be a project, but a project with alot of upside), but some of these same people were also saying that they hoped Miami could get him with a 4th, instead Miami got him with our lower 5th round pick.

Maybe some were crapping on him pretty bad, but most here were just afraid to give up a 1st day draft pick for someone that will take a little time to maybe reach his potential.

Some DT's do, the majority have a few sacks a year and hold up blockers, and stuff the run...

Yeeeesss, I know that, I'm just giving you a hard time because I hate the bills.

It depends on the scheme, and if they are a 2 or 3 technique DT. There are guys like Pat Williams, and then there are La'Roi Glovers.

It's the equivalent of a 6th. We gave up a 5th round pick a year from now. On the draft value board, that's a 6th.

If you told me there was a 320lb DT out there who could run a sub-5 40 and he was available in the 6th... I mean, I'd take it.

I'm not a huge Wright fan. I think he's lazy and/or dim-witted, I think he showed a lack of preparation and poor judgment, and I think he's a project. But he can be a monster and it's rare to get that kind of upside in the 6th round. Kudos.
