MERGED: Dolphins Select Wright in 5th Round

Nublar, even ESPN is reporting that we have 2 5th round selections so I'm not so sure what to believe.

Although several scouting services reported that Wright appeared out of shape, the Dolphins took him with their second pick in the fifth round, and now must now forfeit their fifth round pick in next year's draft.
 
Great move by Saban and company. I believe we got KC's 5th round pick for Surtain, giving us 2 picks in the 5th.
 
a great pickup im very happy not only did we give up a 5th round pick in 2006 it just so happens we had 2 fifth round picks in 2006 and we choose wright with the lowest of the fifths.so that still leaves us with a pick in round 5 and a steal this guy will be the next charles haley reggie white passrushing sackmaster.leon lett turned out ok and everything you heard about him was negative i think he proved himself with a couple of rings and this guy is a ringman beast at a small price for big reward.go fins!let the nick saban era begin!!!!!!

No we didn't! We swapped 2005 5th rounders. We didn't receive a 2006 5th. If you are gonna yell in caps, at least be correct

seriously, this guy hasn't played football since 2001, and you think he might be better than Thompson and Gilmore. He's probably no better a WR than Bellamy, Davis, Newson and Welker.
 
Miami doesn't have 2 5th Round picks so far in 2006. The report is false.
 
If you read the rest of this thread or one of several others, no they didn't have two fifth round picks for next year. They have two seventh rounders in 2006 but they only had their own pick in the fifth round of 2006 which they have now used.

The confusion arose when a reporter wrote "the Dolphins used THEIR second pick in the fifth round" when he should have said "the Dolphins used THE second pick of the fifth round".

Check all the local papers this morning, the error from the early reports has been corrected. The papers are all reporting the Dolphins have now used their one and only fifth round pick in next year's draft to select Wright.
