This was one the cheapest shots I have seen in a long time. What bothers me the most is that nobody on the Dolphins went after Swearinger over this. Last year in the playoffs when someone took a cheap shot at LeBron there was a backup forward on the Heat who came off the bench and closelined one of the Pacers starters to make it clear that the Heat would not tolerate this s***. In baseball it is almost expected that a pitcher will throw at a hitter who tried to spike one of his teammates. Brian Cox once ran across the entire field to enter a fight in support of a Dolphin's teammate.
Where was any of that with the Dolphins tonight? Has Philbin's cerebral approach to the game so tempered the concept of us against the world that we are totally devoid of the emotion required to play the game with reckless abandon.
I saw swearinger towards the end of the game believe it was 4th quarter, I believe they pulled him after it happened, or shortly after. Probably to avoid exactly what u speak of. If swearinger isn't in the game tho, cheap shot one of his teammates. The Pat Riley approach, putting Charles Oakley in to clothesline somebody.
