MERGED: Dustin Keller Injury Thread

This was one the cheapest shots I have seen in a long time. What bothers me the most is that nobody on the Dolphins went after Swearinger over this. Last year in the playoffs when someone took a cheap shot at LeBron there was a backup forward on the Heat who came off the bench and closelined one of the Pacers starters to make it clear that the Heat would not tolerate this s***. In baseball it is almost expected that a pitcher will throw at a hitter who tried to spike one of his teammates. Brian Cox once ran across the entire field to enter a fight in support of a Dolphin's teammate.

Where was any of that with the Dolphins tonight? Has Philbin's cerebral approach to the game so tempered the concept of us against the world that we are totally devoid of the emotion required to play the game with reckless abandon.

I saw swearinger towards the end of the game believe it was 4th quarter, I believe they pulled him after it happened, or shortly after. Probably to avoid exactly what u speak of. If swearinger isn't in the game tho, cheap shot one of his teammates. The Pat Riley approach, putting Charles Oakley in to clothesline somebody.

That was a dirty hit. I hope Keller is alright. Tough loss for you guys. Bloody shame it came on such a dirty play.

Sorry for posting the video but here's the video:

Come on please be a knee sprain. I know it does not mean anything but a few people on facebook are saying they heard it was a sprain.

Rotoworld said Kendall Wright likely avoided an ACL tear and itlooks like a sprain. I didn't see his injury. Most likely not as bad as Keller's but I'm searching for a glimmer of hope.

Just let it be anything other than an ligament damage. If he can give us half a season I'd be happy

That hit was a cheap shot. No question. Horrid, in fact.

But the real question is why we don't have talent enough on the roster to step up at TE? Especially when two quality draft picks have been used on the position in the last two years?

And more -- why the WR corps as a whole is so slow that taking out a good TE receiver hurts the team so much?

We are hurting at skill positions -- WR and TE especially. And thin with skill at RB. And absolutely paper-thin and poor at OL.

All this, friends. ALL this is on Ireland.

Lose one TE and it makes playoffs seem like a pipe-dream? That should tell anyone how well our front office has done at talent-acquisition.

Dang, it hurts to be a Fin Fan sometimes!!

and you didnt even mention all the FA busts...well atleast theres only one more year and then we can start over again with a new GM

Wow swearinger just tweeted this.....@JungleBoi_Swagg: Everybody pray 4 justin keller....i pray you have a speedy recovery bro...and kill it when you get back.... DEFINITELY wasnt intentional..

So u most likely end the guys season possibly career with a low hit and u don't even know his name?

I'm probably in the very small minority that think that tackle was not dirty at all... A few plays after/before that a Houston player got penalized for hitting up top. Now, I don't know how much you all like the new rule changes in the NFL, but I hate them. For a defensive player going to tackle someone hitting low is better than getting fined for hitting too high. This is going to happen, a lot. It's what they're told to do, not his fault Keller got injured. If it was our player making that hit then the conversation would be totally different.

I just hope it's not a torn ACL....

Wtf?!?? Really! Biggest cheap shot hit I have seen in a long time let alone a ****ing preseason game!

It was a cheap shot... those type of hits should not be executed during pre season.
