MERGED: Dustin Keller Injury Thread

Have you ever seen that exact injury happen the exact way it did and it not be a torn ligament? If so, please let us know. Every time I've ever seem that, with a player reacting like that...torn ligament. By the end of the game Philbin seemed to know what was up, as did all the players who spoke.
I've seen something similar happen to a guy's knee -- not in football -- and it was a dislocation. I agree that he's very likely done for the season, but let's at least wait for the injury report before we take that as gospel.

sad...sad...day to be a PHINS fan. Keller was one of my favorite off season pick ups.

This is a good idea. I mean doctors spend all that time in school learning about this stuff. Maybe we should give the guys with the medical training a chance to diagnois before we all play armchair knee surgeon.

Geez, there's no harm in speculating on what the specific injury is. This is a discussion forum, people are going to speculate.

Whether it's a dislocated kneecap or a Torn ACL/MCL or both, he's done for the year regardless. And that's ultimately what the discussion is about, and it's blow to our offense.

The fact they did the MRI last night instead of waiting until they returned to Miami suggestthey were worried about damage to
ablood vessel and interupted blood flow to the lower leg and foot. I have not seen the injury, but it does sound pretty serious.

Well, that's not entirely true. A dislocated kneecap (didn't look like the injury - his entire joint buckled) wouldn't be a season ender. I'm waiting for the official word but it doesn't look good at all.

Man, I have a Keller hangover! I'm so bummed out over this injury. He was going to be huge in this offense! SUCKS!!!!!!

Fox Sports' Mike Garafolo reports Dustin Keller (knee) is "most likely done for the year."
The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero heard through a team source that Keller's knee injury is "not good," so it's shaping up as another lost season for the tight end. Keller's knee got bent back awkwardly after Texans rookie S D.J. Swearinger unloaded on him in Saturday night's preseason game. He'd been developing solid chemsitry with Ryan Tannehill, and had the looks of a possible value pick in fantasy. Some combination of Charles Clay, Dion Sims, and Michael Egnew will try and replace Keller at tight end. Brandon Gibson may be the main beneficiary.

I was at a concert last night and my brother texted me the news. Ruined my evening.
