The Wanny crack was unneccesary and a gross exagerration...that's all.

We all want what's best for the team and if these things turn out for the better more power to Saban, however, if we don't get a better team, it's these things that are going to be his downfall.

he can alienate the fans to his hearts content but....He better win.

I've been to many mini camps and after the excitement wears off of actually being there and seeing the players for the first time that season, you kinda wonder  "What am I doing here again?" Bottom line is they are boring. Players running around in shorts with no pads doing stuff that looks like its related to football. I usually ened up in the ridiculously over priced Pro Shop spending a fortune and then coming back out and getting a few autographs. Who cares about mini-camps? Training camp is another story though. I doubt access will be restricted to that.

Saban has declared that attendence at the games will be limited to only those fans who can pass a special I.Q. test developed by Saban himself.

This is going to seriously cut into Wayne Huizenga's profits from the team, but the owner has told Saban that whatever he feels is best for the Dolphins, will be done.

"It gets distracting with all those people in the stands" said Saban when asked about the radical change. "All the yelling, and noise, besides most football fans are just plain ignorant." "If you can limit the attendance to those folks who know all the nuances of the game, it saves me from having to have press conferences, and explaining to the 'football stupids' why players did what they did on the field".

When asked about the new policy Huizenga replied; "Yeah it's going to cut into my profits quite a bit, but I gave him full control of the team and all it's affairs." "Besides, I am loaded, you think I am going to miss a couple million dollars?"

How hard is Sabans' test? "The entire team took it, and everyone except Sage Rosenfels failed it," said Saban. "However I am looking into Sage's score." "I don't understand how he passed the test as I forbid any of the players from attending on test day."

Saban went on to say, "I am hopeful that one day the mini-camps, training camps, pre-season, and regular season games can all be played out in my head." "That will be a great day...HEY! GET AWAY FROM MY LITTLE DEBBIE SNACKS!!"

Hey Saban, what's with the life size picture of Hitler?

I don't have problems with it really... just wonder the logic behind closing mini-camps and not training camp... it would seem to me that play execution, and all the stuff we might actually want to keep secret would occur during training camp... but maybe I'm just clueless to what the difference between the two really is.

Oh oh....here's the bridge to shutting down training camp from the fans...

I called it! Saban DOES NOT CARE about what the fans think!

Saban is not hostile toward the fan. He is not anti-fan. He does not want to alienate the fan, but he does not make decisions based on this fan base. I do not mean this post as a way to ridicule anybody on this board that is expressing a desire for Saban drafting or obtaining or letting go of particular players. That's what this forum is for and I enjoy reading what people have to say about various players. My point is more about Saban. He's cleaning up the mess. Part of cleaning up the mess is let EVERYBODY know who's in charge.

But I do think that many fans on this site are under the delusion that Saban would be making decision on how popular a fan is, or keep a tradition like an open invitation to fans at practice and training camp because of fan reaction. Nah! Saban slammed that door in our face and I love him even more for doing it. Nick is in CHARGE baby! Now EVERYBODY IS ON THE LEARNING CURVE!

Dont think that its fans only that used to attend the Mini-Camps and stuff like that. With Saban being new as a HC in the NFL, you are going to have all kinds of teams sending people trying to see what Saban is doing with the team just to get some kind of heads up on what they will be facing next year.

Closing out the Media is the best thing that Saban could have done especially with the way the Media treated us last year. I wouldnt give then a interview more than I had to.

One thing that really sucks, we arnt going to know who we draft until they call the name on TV. Anything that you really hear is a mute point because he isnt going to let anything come out.

Allowing fans access and infomration on the team that they pay a lot of money to see is not the same as doing what the fans want. Its totally different and his ban on fan involvement is completely uncalled for, especially since we are paying his big paycheck.

I think it comes down to that nothing does happen, so why is there a need for anyone to be there! The public doesn't need to be at mini-camp just to see a player up close or get an autograph! It's more just a distraction for the players and should just be where they can get there running in a get reaccuanted with the team! Once training camp starts that's where things actually happen! I'm sure he would keep fans and media out of that also if he could!

He may just want to keep the media out and can't keep the media out without keeping the fans also! So maybe it has nothing to do with the fans being there! Either way as long as fans can go to TC than Mini being closed I think is a none issue!

Ok then why let the press attend two, and us only one?
Yea..your right...we should have more access than reporters who actually get PAID to cover these things!..the audacity!...lol...its MINI-Camp...no pads...love the words being thrown around..BANNED!..lol...locking us out...Training camp will be open to the public so everyone should just relax. If we have a succesful year...I doubt anyone will be complaining about mini-camp being closed to the public.Isn't this all about trying to get this organization turned in the right direction?

I think Saban is going a little to far.I like what he as done so far,but when i heard him talk yesterday. It was boring. He should of stayed home and made hotdogs and hambugers.

I loved the MC reports as much as anyone. For a man dying of thirst, even the dew on the grass is a blessing. But lets be honest here...does anyone remember a single observation from Mini Camp reflecting on anything in the Regular Season? Last thing I remembered from the MC reports were how our #3/#4 QB's behind Fiedler/Lucas were the next best thing to sliced bread and would be starters....except for them both being cut before the first game. What were their names again?

Levcik and Kustok...:goof:

God, I'm obsessed...:nono:

I'm pretty sure if he closes mini-camp he will close training-camp in a few months. :(

I just hope he wins games

You guys are ridiculous. Everything Saban has done thus far is in the BEST INTEREST of the team. He said in his interview that he doesnt mean to disrespect fans, reporters, etc. but he is keeping everything confidential because he doesnt want to give things away. Let the guy do his job. Would you rather have Wanny back??? Saban is doing everything he can to help our team have a better year and prepare us for the future.

Personally, I love the fact that Nick is running a tight ship. We're a totally different team from the one headed by Wannstedt.

Lay down the hammer Nick!
