MERGED: Gordon Starting RB On Opening Day?

Gordon was a bad*** in college and is almost the physical freak that Brown is. He was hurt at the end of his college career and entered the NFL with a misdiagnosed injury. He was never treated for it until well into his second season. Basically, if all you've seen is his pro career then you've never seen him run healthy. When healthy, morris and Harris aren't in Gordon's class. I don't know where you can say no one is talking about him and claim there's a love affair with him in the same post. :shakeno: The fact is the coaches are noticing. He's currently at the top of the depth chart and all mini camp reports are that he was the best looking back on the field.

mini-camps is guys running around in shorts and t-shirts. Who cares.

also, this ain't college anymore!

Gordon runs with power. Usually those guys don't look good in minicamp. And no it isn't college so are you saying we should have no expectations for Brown either?

Gordon is the size of a back who runs with power, but he does not do so. Harris is a back who runs with power, and that's exactly why he's going to shoot right past Gordon when the pads go on and the contact starts.

I doubt it, but we'll see.

IMO, I think it's great that Gordon will get at least another shot. Last year he did suck in his limited time, but I know he's better than that. I'm all for Ronnie Brown starting, but I wouldn't mind seeing Gordon get one more shot before he's completely written off.

He sucked in St.Louis also

Brown hasn't stunk on an NFL level. Gordon did in St.Louis. That is why they drafted a RB (Jackson) in the 1st round in the 2004 draft.

I don't think Gordon will start, because I still believe that Ronnie will get his contract completed in the early part of Training Camp.

isn't alex smith slated to get signed by the start of training camp somewhere around july 28th. I don't know where i read that otherwise i would post it. Is there new news that says smith will be holding out?the only reason i am bringing that up is i believe brown is just waiting for the smith deal to get done so he knows what the market is

I didn't watch TA tonight, but they actually think their is a chance Brown might not be signed by game 1 of the regular season?

They said he might not know the offense well enough to start if he doesn't get signed until late into the offseason.

Yeah, he will be signed before the first game, that's not the problem. They are worried that if he doesn't sign until late in the off season, he won't know the offense well enough to be the starter right away..

Yes, the running back with the leg injury didn't run well. We should base our entire evaluation on that b/c there's no way that a leg injury will ever affect a running back's performance.

reading all of this feels so good....last year we had no depth at running back, this year we talk about brown, williams, gordon, morris, minor, and kay jay, this is phenomenal
