He will mostly likely not be signed yet and his agent (France) will hold him out till he gets a contract, don't worry it happens all the time.

Yeah a Qb holding out is a big deal, but I don't think a Rb holding out hurts a team as much as a Qb. Once some of the other top picks start signing I think he'll be in camp.

Well the 49ers don't open camp until the 28th. Hopefully they sign him before ours.

Ronnie just wants to stay out of the 100% humidity for a while.

Because players report on the 24, and practice on the 25. No rookie can practice without signing a waiver or having a contract in place. The players union does not want them to sign waivers so they dont

Imagine Ronnie breaks his leg and is out for the year.... Leverage goes right out the window...

Ronnie did make it known that he is not a holdout type player and fully intends on reporting to camp day 1.

Brown on NFL frontpage.

The Dolphins open minicamp on July 24, but No. 2 overall pick Ronnie Brown may not be there.

The most interesting dynamic that is going to play out with the Cedric Benson contract in the next few weeks is the fact that Ronnie Brown, the running back from Auburn selected by the Dolphins at the second overall spot, just two up from Benson, is also scheduled to play in the Hall of Fame game. Under new head coach Nick Saban, the Dolphins are scheduled to report to camp on July 24, just one day after the Bears and a full week earlier than many teams.

I seriously doubt Ronnie Brown doesn't make it into camp on time. If this were a normal situation and we were a typical team that uses a #2 on a RB, and we were desperate for his services, yes he would not likely make it into camp on time.

But, like it or not, Ricky is once again a factor in THIS too. Ricky is only scheduled to miss the first 4 days or so of training camp, and Ronnie Brown will need as much time getting the WHOLE load to show what he's got. If he doesn't take advantage of that oppurtunity and has to come into camp with Ricky already here, he may be relegated to the bench. It will be THAT much harder to fight back and become the #1 RB. I think he and his agent will recognise that, and will try to get something done ASAP. This "Guage" thing is rediculous anyways... the "guage" is almost always LAST year's pick at that position plus about 10%.

Brown should sign a contract worthy of the no. 2 pick or hold out especially with the posibility of RW returning. Brown should protect himself.
