MERGED: Lance Schulters to visit the Fish

Schulters would be an amazing pick-up...

personally, I'd feel a hell of a lot more confident about our secondary.

I don't understand...we don't have that kind of room available either ?? The question would be IF we sign Schulters, who are we going to cut ??

Why would Saban cut a CB to sign a safety ?? We are thin at CB as well...besides, Howard is not that bad of a CB..he just wasn't used correctly by you-know-who...
 
He would be a good pickup for us.IMO he is better than the guys we have now at S and he has a lot left in the tank.

Not only that, I'm pretty sure there would be a big cap hit if we cut Howard. Schulters would be a nice addition though. I hope we sign him.

So what im confused here is what about Yeremiah Bell? The article said he would compete with Tillman for the starting job... but what about Bell?

I know Bell has injury concerns, but when healthy he was very good.
 
Schulters can play..assuming he is fully recovered from his injury. This would help to shore up the secondary.
 
Glad to see him coming in for a visit. I hope that he isnt asking for too much money because if he isnt, then i hope we can sign him within a week.
 
He's one player that would certainly bolster our secondary. I'm not worried about the starting DB position opposite Madison as much as I am about the S positions....

I think Howard / Daniels will be fine in coverage, but looking at the middle of the field is where I get nervous. Shulters would be a huge upgrade over Tillman or Edwards, or whoever Saban plans on starting at the other safety position....

Saban needs to forget about trying to shell out a boat load of money for DB T. Law, and focus on making L. Shulters our main priority IMO. I'd rather have Shulters than Law at this point, and besides, I think we'll be fine at DB with who we already have....

Hell, I'd dump both Tillman and Edwards to add Schulters. We've got several players we can dump to open up some space....

Adding Schulters is a MUST SIGNING IMO. We're not going to find a better option than him this off-season. We are desperate at Safety, and he's a legit starter that could come in right away and make a difference on defense....

If we end up passing on Schulters due to lack of cap space, I'll be very upset. Saban should have really thought twice about guys like Tillman / Edwards because of these types of situations where better players become available....
