MERGED: Larry Johnson resigned!

Jeff Darlington
I'm told RB Daniel Thomas tweaked his hamstring Wednesday, leading to the decision to sign Larry Johnson and hold Thomas out of practice.

there you have it, damn it!

Man.... I wish they just kept Ricky.
His words must have really hurt Tony.

You don't know if they wanted Ricky or not, Ricky may have told them he does not want to come back. Ricky is on a better team now in Baltimore and he is looking for a ring, same thing with Ronnie.

in my opinion larry johnson is done. nothing left. it's a shame that DT tweaked his hamstring and the fo had to resign johnson before they might have wanted to (if at all). it's more of a shame that johnson was the best available running back. please please please let the hamstring be minor, let thomas play monday night, and never have johnson see the field.

Not sure LJ is completely done. He's not being asked to carry though load, just a situational guy. If he was done, there are other backs they could have signed.

tweaked hammy he may be alright for monday...may just be precautionary type stuff and they need someone to take some reps so they called lj

lets hope

OMG Dawg, stop it man! You're killing me with all this level-headed common sense. It's GOT TO BE Sparano's fault some how, some way. DT probably only tweaked his hammy because Sparano made him practice. ...Right?

He one in a minor few who tries to bring some common sense into a thread without the need to bash someone in the organization.

Hey we all know we were paper thin in the RB department. Last time we were that thin I beleive Speilman and Ricky was around and we were throwing around draft picks mid season trying to fix it. Daniel Thomas is hurt never was hurt in college so you have to give the front office the benefit of the doubt to an extent but still IMO a resigning of Ricky or Ronnie or someone competent to carry you a couple of game would have been prudent. Sorry I do not hold LJ in the same mold at Ricky and Ronnie at this time. This is a very bad sign IMO as we just became one dimisional on offense overnight. History shows putting the entire load on Bush will more than likely lead to short term results with injuries. We really needed more RB's in camp than we had to be ready for this type of situation. All I can say that is good about this is DT is on the practice field today so the injury at this point hopefully is not to serious but if it is a ham string issue it may take weeks. This is like almost loosing your starting QB and all you have is one backup to start the season. This OL thing is not helping at all either. I have questions about that and I am putting out a thread for some real explanation at what the coaching staff must be thinking about the OL we are not talking about here on the forum.

Some guys, all we have to do is see a post to know it will be one of disapproval

sparano has done plenty to deserve criticism...he doesn't deserve it for everything but there's plenty there that he does deserve it for...and irelands not immune to it either

so don't act like there's not...

I would rather have Ricky....but signing LJ is a good thing. He will help DT get better more so than Reggie......do you really think they want Bsuh to mentor him in his style? He can't do it, he is absolutely a LJ style runner and has potential. Lj still has something left and signing him will help.

Who's our ILB depth behind Dansby and Burnett? Mitchell?

He falls under the "Crowder category"...anybody has to be better than him...and "Yes, Mitchell is better..."

I think I figured out the new offense. No O-line. Just Pouncey to snap Henne the ball, with everyone else going out for the pass. You know, backyard style.

Not quite...we will have Long....and Pouncey...and 4 TE's....that will be our OL....
