OK, so you would take Orton over Henne this year?
From page 2:
...
Now... Orton looses Marshall this year and Henne gets him, so Henne SHOULD be able to make a huge leap. I'd take Henne for sure if it were between him and Orton... based on what I think will happen this year. Henne has a MUCH larger upside than Orton, however... up until week 1 of this season, what that guy said in the article is correct... statistically speaking
I think the big disconnect in this thread is people confusing fantasy stats with actual QB quality (win-losses) in real life. If I'm an NFL coach and I have a choice between Orton, Cutler, and Henne for the next 10 years... I'm taking Henne all the way. In Fantasy football though where I need points from yards and TDs... I could care less about wins vs losses and interceptions... I'd take Cutler if I had my choice between the 3 for THIS YEAR only.
Had the dude said the same thing in an article on ESPN.com about the Marshall trade... meaning nothing to do with Fantasy Football... I'd call him a quack for sure. But in FFB yards and TDs are king regardless of wins/losses and potential. Just to put it in prospective... based on last year's stats, Alex Smith finished just 4 points overall behind Henne in my League, whereas Orton finished within 15 points of Joe Flacco and Kurt Warner... so clearly... fantasy points do not equal actual QB quality in the NFL. By the way Cutler was ahead of them all.
