Merged: Matt Flynn to Seattle

supposedly 8-9 mil/year for a guy who will battle for a start. but maybe they changed that language to land him.

Either way, this works in our favor. Seattle now out of the qb market at #13

We really can thank Matt Moore for this being such a painstaking process. Miami has no feel of desperation and that is a GOOD thing. The ball is in our court more than people want to give us credit for and it is apparent that Philbin feels he can get a better QB later on.

Everybody this is a very good perspective. Matt Moore is just as good as Matt Flynn in the eyes of our coaches and FO so why pay 9 million a year for the same thing. Let's draft a QB and let him grow under Moore. Come on guys the sky isn't falling but we most likely are rebuilding. In this draft we get a QB, two WR's, and some OL and DB's.

Now let's see what FA's we can get, like Mark Anderson and company.

Kind of surprising thought he would have gotten a much bigger deal, at least more years. Reasonable contract for the Seahawks, in 3 years there future QB has gone from Charlie Whitehurst, to Tavaris Jackson, to Matt Flynn.

almost 9 mil a year for a guy who has played 2 NFL games?

That's too much. Glad we didn't sign him

So what the heck do we do now. Either sign Alex Smith or draft Tannehill if available at no. 8. I hope Cleveland drafts Richardson then we have shot at Tannehill, if not it will be Weeden. This is so frustrating to be a Fin Fan.

I bet Ireland F**k this up

Played poker and lost...........
BRING ON THE FIRES IREALAND THREADS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
i dont see it that way. if philbin really thought flynn had the tools to be a superstar, they would have paid him. in the end im sure they felt flynn was not worth what he was asking.

Who cares. Our best option is to go with Moore this year & look at one of the four first round QBs in next year's draft. Tannehill is not worth #8.

I DO NOT want Alex Smith on our team. I "assume" the Dolphins are higher on Tannehill than Matt Flynn. Draft Tannehill next month. If you don't get him just stick with Matt Moore.

If Philbin was that high on Flynn we would have signed him. (Maybe he isn't seen as a huge upgrade over Moore)
I am starting to wonder if they weren't just testing the market a bit, but that Philbin feels comfortable with Matt Moore running his offense. You don't have to be some special elite QB to run a WC offense well. We might still get a Smith or Garrard to compete, cause I don;t think either of those guys will be handed the starting position. Moore looked pretty good last year at times. With better coaches, a full offseason, you just never know. I still think his ceiling is higher than where he's at right now. That said, we need some WRs for sure. Maybe we get on in the 1st round if they are comfortable with the QB situation.

Of course we could always draft Tannehill and let him sit behind Moore next year.

I still like the idea of at least taking Weeden in the 2nd though.

Well, at least we dont have to worry about Seattle during the draft.

My suggestion for anyone upset: at this point, just laugh and let it roll off your shoulders. Otherwise before this offseason is over people might start having aneurysms.

Philbin was sold on him. It was about the money. Peter King said Flynn wanted a contract between 3-5 years and at least 10 million guaranteed. I don't think Ireland offered that.

I can't believe people want to just settle on Moore and just waste another ****ing year.

Mediocrity coming up again...
