After a decade Of mediocrity and mediocre players if he can play draft him...could be a steal too
You didnt even watch the game bro. Those of us who were watching, were looking for you that day to break down the film for us.
I believe he's a little bit undersized for a defensive lineman at the next level. Also I think you're selling short the significance of this announcement and the hesitation many NFL executives and head coaches will have to willingly attach themselves to such a polarizing topic. In blunt terms, many expect a huge drop in Sam's draft stock.

Well of course he's proud to tell his story, if he goes on to have a moderately successful nfl career he stands to make a trillion dollars off of his story. book deals, blind side style movie, made for tv movie to follow it up. every gay nfl fan will buy one of his jerseys, hell, he could come out with some lance armstrong bracelets that are rainbow striped and sell a billion of them. In all fairness though of course it's his sexual preference first, because he isn't like a majority of other nfl players. he could definitely be a distraction but with good leadership in the locker room he may not be. That's why we should never draft him though, we are devoid of leadership in the locker room. We couldn't handle it.@jnewmant: Very good point. Perhaps he did want to get out ahead of the story. That's fine. But i just heard on bspn, that he's proud to tell his story. Which brings me back around to this pointless nonsense being a needless distraction. And that's something we have no use for. I dont care that he's gay. And if that'd be the secondary issue, then fine, but it isn't. Its his sexual preference 1st. The actual player 2nd. Nothing but a distraction.
I'm not advocating drafting him only because he doesn't fit a need for us, but from a business standpoint, it might actually make a lot of sense for a team in a city with a large gay community to draft him if that team is having trouble selling tickets.
My question is locker room effect. How will players react to someone who is physically attracted to them? It's equivalent to women and men in the same locker room undressing in front of one another. Can players handle this? Some will and some won't.
This kid is showing a hell of a lot more courage than any of the anonymous sources in that article that don't have the balls to have their names attached their name to their quotes.
Every woman and one out of every 52 women are completely different things. Chances are there will be at least one other person in the locker room he is attracted to. I am definitely attracted to at least one out of every 52 women i meet.how do you know he is attracted to anyone in the locker room? Are you automatically attracted to every woman you meet? Do you have friends who are girls that you dont automatically get a raging hard on when you look at them or do you have so much testosterone that every woman is a potential mate?
Do you have any gay friends? Judging from your post, Id say no. But just like you dont get hard for every woman you meet, the same is true for this kid...
got to agree with this...the only thing people on his team will care about is if he can help them win games...It takes ABSOLUTELY no courage in today's media to come out. NONE. He is now a cause celebrity. He is now famous for one thing, and it isn't play on the football field.

Well at least we got rid of the boob in the front office that would embarrass us in the interview process should they decided to bring Sam in for a interview.
