If the Colts lose, then I'll go Jets. If the Colts win, then I'll Jets. I'll take one year of losing to the Jets, in exchange for dominating them for the next 10-13 Season. C'Mon people, the season is a wash, we might as well cash in on sucking ***.

That good huh?

As heralded as his sons, Archie was the #2 draft pick in 71, and could have been the first had Ole Miss not sucked so greatly.

How did drafting a potential franchise changer work out for him and his career personally, as well as for the long suffering Saints fans? (And you better believe Oliver Luck has or will be in contact with Archie before too long)

A very athletic quarterback, the 6-3, 212-pound Manning played at the University of Mississippi and was chosen by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 1971 NFL college draft.
He became a starter before the end of his rookie season and in his second year, 1972, he led the league with 448 passing attempts and 230 completions. Playing for a poor team, Manning had to pass a great deal, which probably caused the severe tendinitis in his right shoulder that kept on the sidelines for the entire 1976 season.United Press International named Manning the National Football Conference player of the year in 1978, when he completed 291 of 471 passes for 3,416 yards and 17 touchdowns.During the 1982 season, Manning was traded to the Houston Oilers and he went to the Minnesota Vikings the following year. He retired after the 1984 season.

Manning finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting in his senior year. Two of his sons, Peyton and Eli, are also quarterbacks who came close to the Heisman. Peyton finished second in the voting in 1997, his senior season at Tennessee, and Eli finished third in 2003, his senior year at Mississippi.

You people that root against the Dolphins kill me. Rooting has NO baring on how the team actually does. Rooting for losses does not make you a better fan because you are looking towards the future. It makes you a bad fan. You can root for losses all you want, but that does not mean they will come and the Dolphins will get Luck. When I root for wins, I am not rooting for 6-10 or 7-9 mediocrity. I'm rooting for 12-4. Rooting for the Dolphins won't make that happen anymore than rooting against them will make them lose. It is what I want to happen, not what will happen. Since that is the case, it only makes sense to root for wins.

Anyone that can root for the Jets against the Dolphins is not a good fan. You people are like terrorist. Are there things about America that I don't like and don't agree with? Absolutely! But I'm not rooting for Al-Qaeda or guys like Timothy McVeigh. I'm proud to be an American, and I'm proud to be a Dolphins fan. That does not mean I am happy with how things are and that is not blind loyalty. It is believing things can get better without having to root against it.

If I was the owner of this site, I would remove any Mod that roots against the Dolphins. So called Fans can do what they want, but I think Mods should be held to a higher standard. Rooting for the Jets, Pats or Bills against the Dolphins is an unforgivable sin.

My examples may be a bit extreme, but I'm just tired of all this SFL crap.

You just likened people hoping for a specific college player to a terrorist organization and a man who killed thousands. Nah, not extreme at all.

Yeah, I pulled a Hank Williams Jr.

I just found out ESPN read my post, and I'm now banned from watching MNF. :crying:

What do you think Archie's advice would be ?
Probably demand the next 3 draft picks are O linemen.

I always will root for my Dolphins to win no matter what. But I would be lying if I told you I wouldn't mind loosing at this point.

A losing mindset doesn't fix itself. If you hope and root for these guys to fail this year, you might as well punch that ticket for eternity.

Sorry, I find it mind boggling you would ever ever want your team to lose just so you can get what you percieve as the fix all mend all. There is zero logic in that. None!!!

That locker-room, whatever is left of it will be beyond repair, and as I mentioned, Luck won't do us any good if the other quality players jump ship to go play somewhere they will actually be appreciated.

ha ha...the players go where the money takes them...period...and as long as mr ross is handing out checks with commas on em the players will continue to do so

punch your ticket for eternity...thats a trip

Anybody rooting against the Dolphins on Monday is downright retarded and needs to find another team. If they lose they lose, I'm not openly rooting against Miami to lose against the Jets, I give 2 ****s who is available in the draft. This is the Jets, probably our most hated division rival . . . seriously, I question the fanhood on a good number of you.

And heaven forbid Andrew Luck gets drafted and has a Peyton Manning like first year . . . I guess many of you will be calling for his head then also. **** doesn't change amongst the real airheads on this site.

question it all you want...and if luck shows franchise upside the way manning did in his rookie year and yet throws 28 ints like manning did you won't hear a peep from me...my eyes know better

although the way luck takes care of the ball and makes such good decisions at stanford i'd be willing to bet even as a rookie he's looking at a potential 2 to 1 td to int ratio...20 and 10 something like that

Dolphins, obviously! Are you seriously directing this question at dolfans? Any dofan rooting for the Jets -or against the Dolphins for that matter- is dead to me

I don't understand how any dolphin fan could root for the Jets against the dolphins. I'm disappointed to see so many votes for the Jets. Draft picks are not guaranteed, we only get 16 games a year( a few more if we are lucky enough to see our team reach the playoffs) and I wuld never, under any circumstances root against my team. I remember back in '05 when we stunk and Jet fans rooting to lose so we could get that sure thing Reggie Bush.

Everytime the Dolphins lose, a new dagger is felt inside of me and going through each of those weeks is as bad a it gets. Would I be ecstatic if we got Luck, yes, but losing all our games is too tough to bare, too long to wait till the draft, and all through my life, I have always believed you never hope for your team to lose or try to lose games on purpose.

I'm that idiot on the team that when losing by 3 TDs with 6 min on the clock, will be telling everyone if we can score quickly, and stop them, we can still win this game.

Other: Apathetic for this year (can't root against them), but definitely rooting for them against the jests. Hell, I'll be at the game.

Words of wisdom from an unlikely source. Everyone is not hoping we lose but the ones who are carrying the torches seem to be the loudest. Good luck on monday night. Really hope my team shows up next week. They haven't the first four games.

It was only a few years ago the dolphins finished with one win and jets finished with 4. That year the jets swept us. That year we drafted one and picked Jake long. How many dolphin fans actually remember those games or should I say how many fans are still brewing about those loses to the jets. We drafted an all pro left tackle that year.

Imagine if we drafted Peyton manning that year instead. Would anybody today say, damn I wish we would of beaten the jets a few years ago. My point is that the sweep we suffered that year means nothing to anybody today and we only got a left tackle that year.

This year the greatest prospect at the most important position since John Elway is coming out. Do you think a couple of years we are going to give a damn about a loss to jets in a meaningless regular season game. Does anyone still give a damn we got swept by them in 07 when our draft prize was Jake long.
