I haven't been able to post much lately as my dad had been sick for a few months. We almost lost him 2 months ago and again 2 weeks ago.Last nite he left us and he died in my mom's arms.We knew the end was coming but is still so hard.I take some comfort that he's not in pain now.He lived his life the way he wanted to and he'd had been 90 in 2 weeks. My dad was the first person that ever talked to me about football and soccer too for that matter. He was born in Italy but grew up in NY...went to WW2 and got 2 bronze medals with the US army and then later was in the airforce....he was my hero.I still remember asking him when I was a kid who was the QB for the Dolphins and he said"Bob Greese"....I've been a dolphins fan ever since......he wasn't a fan of any particular team but he loved football. He thaught me how to be a good fan win or lose...he always told me not to be on time but rather.."be early"...he thaught me to be responsible for work(I've missed one day of work in the last 6 years(other than the few times this year when I had to be with him)...I'm glad and greatfull that he was and always will be my dad.I guess this is my little tribute to him. Thanks dad was everything you did for me and the good memories.I will always love you.Your son, Danny!!

my dad rules!!!!

Hey Man,

I feel your pain. I lost my dad on June 12th, the day before my B-Day. He finally lost his battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease after 2 years, my dad also died in my Mom's arms. So take care and know that they are not suffering anymore, but they will be missed. My condolences.

Condolences and prayers my friend, he is in a better place than we can imagine. Sounds like you were a lucky guy to be able to call him Dad.

My prayers will include you and your family. Very little pleases a father more than a good son. A son who adopts values of honesty and personal responsibility...like you have. You may rest assured your father was as proud of you as are him. Peace.

losing a parent is tough, no matter when it happens. we're never ever ready to let go. my thoughts are with you.

man im sorry and hope you the best and sounds like your dad was the best

im wishing you and your family the best :)

My father died 11 years ago and I still mourn his death. Specially since my first newborn is coming along the way. God bless you and I hope you find it in your heart to move on. He is in a better place.

thats classy. Your first condolences from a Bills fan. Way to go justa!

but danny, sorry for your loss. Your dad was a war hero, and sounds like a good man. Remember his legacy, that is the best tribute you can give to him, and pass on his wisdom to your children.

take care!

dude it sucks, but keep it strong'

he will be up there screaming down when Feely throw an iNT.

The death of a parent is something most of us will have to go through sooner or later. That sure doesn't make it any easier though. Best wishes to you and yours.

My condolences on your loss, but how cool is it to be able to reflect that way about a man? Your dad ruled, and he lives on in you Danny. Rejoice that you are his best legacy and look forward to the time you can see him again :)
