Merged: My dream coach...

My dream coach...Dick Vermeil...

"Man, Coach cries almost every day. That guy will cry during practice. He’ll cry after practice. I’ve seen him cry in meetings. But that’s what makes Coach so good. Every head coach says they care…but they don’t..." Dante Hall

Any chance Marino is our HC next year. Wayne seems to only hire people he knows and trusts. and marino would fit both those. Dan would probably relish the chance to follow wanny and succed where DW failed since DW forced his retirement. Marino would get in someones face when they messed up instead of just frowning at them like Wanny does. I know he has no experience but I dont think spielman had much experience before this year. Same with Foerester and Wayne didnt tell Wanny to make trestman the OC. I am not saying Dan will be the first guy we go after but if Saban rebuffs us and weis doesnt want the job.
I don't think he will want to put in the time it takes to be a HC. When he left the VP job, he didn't want to take away the time from his family.

What do you guys think about the OC from the Colts? Sorry forgot his name.

Sorry but if Dan can't make a lifestyle adjustment for the average American work week, you think his high rolling cushy butt is going to put in 14 days? Sleeping on a couch at the office? Having nightmares about defenses and then working all week with your players to get them ready and gameplan? Then dealing with the boos, and media after you lose?

Sorry, Dan is a feature, a focal point, a great player, outstanding individual but he's not a ship's captain, he's not a coach and certainly won't fit the lifestyle.

I'm surprised Spurrier hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet. I don't want a college coach unless he's had success at the pro level. I don't want to rebuild with a new coach along with our new players. We need a proven vet coach, or a young hot up and coming coordinator.

Nick Saben, Charlie Weiss (although i dont see alot of high motivation in the guy), Larry Coker (could bring with him some good coaches with him), Jim Fassell i would consider greatly cus he is an offense guy.

Why would Larry Coker leave UM?

Honestly,****er is better fit for Collegethan the pro's.

Al Saunders - Offensive Coordinator Kansas City Chiefs

Keep our Defensive coaches for a year at least

Don't be trying to take Coker away from the Canes. I like to see at least 1 Miami team win!

this sounds like a good idea...I wouldnt mind taking a look at this guy.
He's goo but I would rather have Randy Shannon.

Nick Saban is going to loose a lot of his momentum to get a head coaching job since his team is starting to loose, so he could be a good choice. We will probably end up with some coaching guy we have never heard of after everyone says no. But i sure hope Fassel is not an option. How about the Iowa guy, Hammet i think is his name

Charlie Weis is precisely what this team needs. He is an offensive genius who maximizes his teams talents and minimizes their deficiencies.

Bring Pioli as the VP and complete control over coach and personnel.

Then hire Eric Mangini as the DC, he is the secondary coach of the Pats and is an up-and-coming DC in this league.

Let him fill out his staff as he sees fit and then gets McNeil from Auburn, Leinart from USC or that big DT from Oregn in the first next year.

Maybe Winston if he comes out.

we'll see who gets fired this year, and who's contract is up, but it will be a welcome change. a new beggining. but rebuilding? Hopefuly not if we can keep most of our defense if we can keep our def. coordinator that would be great.
