I think I'm with NJ on this (which surprises me, since we watch games at the bar together and I was unaware of her opinion). I don't like Ricky. I don't trust him, either. I think it's extremely likely that this ends poorly -- he'll be a distraction in camp (and would be already if anyone were around). The 60 minutes interview showed me an individual with no sense of responsibility or accountability, and an at best tenuous grip on reality. I think this is a risk for Saban because regardless of the team's current investment, if he does something to embarrass the team again it will be much worse because the team gave him this opportunity to do so.

If he comes back and plays well, and I see him put up 200 yards and 3 TDs against one of our Rivals.... I will be conflicted. I'll be ecstatic with a Dolphins win, but I will still be adamant on my opinions on Williams.

If he comes back with a positive attitude, a public apology, and becomes a model team player and citizen for the entire season, I might revisit my opinion, but he's got an uphill battle to change this fan's mind.

I will say, however, it's absolutely his prerogative to not give a damn what I think. But I still think that Ricky's return to the team is more likely going to go poorly than go well -- I was happier owning his rights and Ricky never playing again.
 
Thanks trackstar, I'm really looking forward to getting all this noise behind us and having a backfield that will be the envy of the NFL.
Even a dog gets the first bite for free, give Ricky a chance to deliver and get back on his feet.
I loved it when he played do any of you remember what he run over Takeo Spikes who was mouthing off during the opening of the game about making the Fins house his.
Barfalo started really strong and after that game they never recovered.
Couldn't beat the Jets till we got Ricky.
I was upset about him not playing last year but what upset me more was to see how poorly prepared the team was to deal with the challanges.
That fiasco was Wanny's doing not Ricky's

Well Ricky showed up for work to provide for his children and he'll have to deal with his team and the fans and it will not be easy, but he'll do it.
When you think about Ricky don't forget he suffers from a mental illness and his behaviour is a by product of his mental condition.
Maybe he can help with your emotional problem he studies Hollistic medicine.

Then why was he taken to court for not paying his child support?

Also why was he taken to court to force him to take a DNA test to prove he was the father to another child?

I suppose your answer to me will be.......

Hey, give Ricky a break, after all he has a mental illness. Maybe he forgot he has kids to feed? :shakeno:

I agree. I am much more of a fan of the name on the front of the jersey than the back of the jersey

Man, for one after about week 11 last year I forgave Ricky. I came to the swift realization that this guy did anything but screw over this franchise. We were way more than one running back away from winning it all. Big deal if we went 10-6 again. All that would do is keep the same coach, the same gm, the same mentallity and the team would just suffer the same slow death as the veterans age without ever having a "real" shot at winning the superbowl. Plus even if he did screw over this franchise that is his choice. I think I am going to get alot of flak for this but he is a human and believe it or not you dont own him. If he thinks his body is not going to make it to 55 because of the beating he took at 27 than that is his choice to retire. Eric Dickerson was the only running back ever to have back to back seasons like Ricky (carries wise) and still go on with a productive career. I cant blame the guy for quitting, I can blame him for doing it on the eve of training camp. We could of had Stephen Jackson last year if he just told us after the season ended, but whats done is done.
