Merged: Please tell me that we'll sign Tim Couch...

Lets face it, the Dolphins are a work in progress, it may take a year or 2 for Saban to put it all together, we don't have a QB we can rely, I guess we will have to get one in next year FA or draft.

We don't need Tim Couch, if the Browns dumped him for the likes of Dilfer...and Green Bay didn't even want him as a back up, he has no value in the NFL as a starter, maybe a back up to a starting QB that doesn't get hurt much, if Miami signs him, it's an act of sheer stupity and desperation. Saving the O-line is a priority, not bringing in has beens ( or never was ).
At this rate someone will start a "bring Jeff George in for a look" tread....

jeff george? LoL....

but seriously, whoever said it will be like last year with the RBs hit the nail on the head - we cannot stack the roster with mediocrity and think that will make up for it. we learned that last year with the RBs.

we need one SOLID guy, not 5 mediocre ones.

You know **** is really hitting the fan when you are begging for Couch.

Hey, I'm not begging for Couch. Just the guy with the Couch Avatar and Couch name. I'll take whoever helps us win. If nobody can help us win, then that's just how it'll be

I don't believe I read anybody writing that?? Most of us don't care who starts, just need to stop blaming everything on the QB whether its Gus or A.J.!!!

Agreed

Living in Ohio (unfortunately) I get to watch all the Browns games, and when Couch was there he did not look all that bad, he team however, was deplorable...Maybe now that his injury has been treated he can be an effective QB, no to put down Gus or AJ, but i think we may have the worse QBs in the league, we gotta do something to strengthen that position.

Did anyone see how poorly Couch played for the Packers and the Browns. We have enough losers at quarterback. Please don't bring in another loser.

We've been scraping the bottom of the barrel. Let's not bust through it and hit the dirt.
Their first draft pick next year better be a quality QB. Until then we grin and bear it.

I personally dont think Gus played really badly. Other than the fumbles (which is happening on BOTH sides) he has played pretty solid on his part. Randy is not catching ANYTHING thrown to him. Had he caught a few of those, we would have points on the board. Same goes for a few of Bookers missed catches. Im not a "guskateer" or an AJ lover... i could care less WHO our QB is as long as they are doing their job. Im not blind... Gus isnt GREAT but i still think he played solid.

He played against what could very well be the best defense in the league this year as well.

Pair that with the fact that we have a very raw OL and you have problems.

Gus made some good throws that were dropped and did a decent job of getting out of trouble in the pocket. The fumble reminded me of some of Griese's most memorable fumbles but other than that I don't think Gus played bad.

On the other hand I don't think any QB has shown they have much hope of being spectacular either.

I see your A Couch supporter but he has had several years as a starter to prove that. it's just the guys who remember him from the ncaa that have faith in him, he has not performed at this level remember Green Bay cut him after he was suposed to be the heir to Farve. We dont need another replacement we need to devlop a young talented QB.

Bottom line is that if Saban and Mueller think he's worth bringing in than there must be some potential that they still see in him.

If you think you can make better decisions then them so be it. Enjoy your own little world.

Were not dealing with Wanny anymore and I'm excited about the moves Saban and Mueller have made. If Couch is next then I believe that they see something that is well worth giving the guy a lousy 3rd string QB spot for a year.

Fiedler has 4 TDs already this preseason and he's played less time than Gus or AJ.

just thought i'd point that out.

God, here we go!

What the hell is Tim Couch going to solve here?

I'll say it again here like I did in another thread....
