Merged: Pouncey could miss First Half of Season

Does Miami not have room to add another replacement "real" centre to the team. Seems like they are always putting players in unfamiliar positions. I'd been looking for one. Next thing you know we will be hearing about his "setbacks in recover" or a "suspension" or something. I know he is good but I'm certainly not feeling like they have a great plan. I'd think the oline would be worse at this point. For years we have had debates on how long it takes a line to gel. Just wait!

Issue becomes with a 'real' center replacement is that most NFL O-lines will carry 3-4 subs. 2 OT and 2 OG/C's.

Garner and Brenner can both play C.

Your subs must be able to play multiple positions so a true C for a sub is asking for a lot.

Same with LB subs, most if not all LB subs (in the 4-3 at least) need to be able to play all 3 LB slots, sure...maybe not at the same skill level from one slot to the next, but it's a must.
 
Best case scenario he is back just after the bye week, worst case he is back for the final 8 games and the playoff push.

I think Pouncey is headed to Reserve/PUP, out first 6 weeks.

Back for the Bears game Oct. 19th

Doesn't count towards 53 roster

Hopefully this is just the 4 letter network being their same magnanimous self. It would really suck if this turned out to be true.

The initial projection was AT LEAST 4-6 weeks. Most logical people (here) were mentioning that he would miss up to the first half of the season.
 
I remember the initial report said AT LEAST 4-6 weeks, so everyone ran with the best case scenario. I remember thinking, "well looks like he's gonna miss the first half of the season".
 
We should call up all those posts of people saying the line is better off without Pouncey.
 
Well one of our young guys needs to step up and take the bull by the horns now. A grand opportunity awaits Tyler Larsen or Sam Brenner if they want it.

Just saw on ESPN that he will most likely be out longer than anticipated.
