Just saw breaking news on ESPN bottomline that Reggie Roby dies at age 43. It's ashame, I was young when he played but I always remember how he wore a watch when he punted. I haven't seen any more info about this so I'm not sure how he died. Lets keep his family in our prayers.
My wife and I met Reggie after practice in 1983, since we are from Iowa also we asked for his autograph and told him how we stood in line for hours for playoff tickets the year before. He said he seldom used the tickets he was allotted and gave us his phone number. (wow have times changed) He supplied us with tickets for the rest of the time he was with the Dolphins and spent some time together when we went to Florida and when they played within driving distance. We got to see a lot of things we never would have gotten to see and do if it weren't for him. We were very upset when he left the team and are even more saddend by his passing. Thanks for all the memories.

Reggie Roby was by far the greatest punter in Dolphins history. No one I've ever seen could bring his leg up so high on thier follow through. No one ever got better hang time. For many years Roby's brilliance was able to bail out our offense and really help put the D in outstanding field position.
As a lifelong Dolphin fan I saw Reggie play when I was a kid. He was just so unique and so talented. I can remember watching him in warmups, just sending the ball out the tops of stadiums.
He was my second favorite Dolphin to Dan Marino. When I was 11 I got a puppy and named him Reggie Roby. I truly admired his skill and the fact that he looked like a football player, not a wimpy little punter. I never understood how they could let him walk after the 92 season. I always followed him throughout the rest of his career though.
I was looking forward to meeting him at Dan's enshrinement this summer. What a blow.
Its truly sad day for all of us and especially for the Roby family. If any of the Roby's are reading this I'd just like to extend my deepest sympathy and let you know how much Reggie will be missed in my heart. Watching Reggie play brought a lot of joy to me and other Dolphins fans. Thanks so much for all the wonderful memories Reggie. You will be missed every time I watch a game.

It was a treat to watch Reggie punt. Usually when watching punts at a game all of the your focus is upon the return. With Reggie you just watched in awe as he booted the ball higher than the stadium. Often, the crowd would gasp in astonishment.

Rest in Peace
You could stand outside the stadium and see the ball above it when he punted if you were far enough away. It is a tragic day in Fins Football.....he truly was a great player/person and we will pray for him as well as his family

Rest in peace Reggie. I remember the time he got hit and his watch went flying off. That was classic. He was a great punter and it sounds like a real class guy!

I see there are a lot of newbees who signed up just to honor this great Dolphin.Welcome to you all.

R.I.P. Reggie. Amongst other things, you will be remembered for the booming punts that helped us win so many games during you Dolphin tenure.

Wow...

This is sad, Roby was one first playeres I remember with Fins of the last SB of the fins. (the 1º game I saw of the fins) .. Danny, the Marck`s brothers and Pete (K).....

Terrible news, 43 is way too young to go. My prayers go out to his family.

When I heard Dan's son had actually recovered from autism, I was elated.
Now, I find out about Reggie and feel horrible. Does anyone know yet as to how he died so young?

I will always remember being excited to get to stadium early just to watch him punt. I was in awe.
