MERGED: Reggie Roby DEAD at Age 43

Wow..very sad news indeed. My sincerest condolences to his young family.
Thanks for the great memories and rest in peace Reggie.

I used to go to kinnick stadium here in Iowa city when I was a teenager and watch him punt, he was truly great even as a freshman you could tell he was something special. RIP RR

My best memory of Reggie Roby was being at night game (forget which one) and being dissapionted because I had nosebleed seats in the dead center on an endzone side. I didn't think I would see much until I saw a football reach eye level to me. It didn't even look real. Almost the same way one of Saturns moons look like just flating in space. I knew then it was Reggie Roby. Me and my buddies were speechless after seeing that. I realized then how powerful his kicks really were.

My thoughts are with the Roby family and friends.

This is a shame. At 43 and a good man who was involved in community service. I hope that there are no surly details connected to him . I am not trying to be a cynic , but a realist hoping for the best after a dreadful event for the sake of the family. That is what " Resting in Peace" means after all.

- As an unimportant side note , but a reflection : Nobody made the same "sound" when they connected foot to football like Reg. For you younger guys , the guy would launch it (most of the time) for 45 yards and no return due to the fact that Reg would hang it up for 5 seconds. In his prime , a weapon as a punter.

R.I.P. Reg , go launch a few for the big guy.

dude could kick the ball...

he was an offensive weapon, no doubt...

single handly changed field position...

rip bro, fin fans everywhere

Geez what amazing extension that guy had...

Thanks for all the great years Reggie! It'd be nice to see them do something for him in the Ring of Honor.

No question. Best Fins punter ever. Not even a close second.

Watching him punt was actually fun. He could get an arc like nobody I've ever seen. You needed to see it live to appreciate the arc. He could get height like few people could. It was a spectacle.

My prayers to his family and Reggie's soul.

Rest in Peace. Courtney Roby looks like a nice pick-up if we have the slot for it since Boston might be gone. I hope we draft him and that he and his family are able to cope with this loss.

He was the best ever. A true Dolphin legend who represented everything good about this franchise and the Shula regime. RIP Reggie.

Another great player from my youth passes at a young age. Sad year so far. Wish his family the best.
