wait i got a question if its a retrctable roof woudnt it be closed on on like stormy days not on any particular hot day?? so if its retractable then we could keep it open and still have the heat advantage right???
i would think that is the case. We wouldnt lose the heat advantage with a roof, it will just eliminate the poor weather days. i for one like the idea.

Don't forget it costs money to close the roof as well as run the air in the stadium so there is a cost that occurs with the closing. They will only close the roof to prevent the delay/closing of events. Basic Economic stuff. If i sell 60,000 tickets and make 1 milllion off of in stadium sales, when its nice out; then if it rains and i only make 200K then its worh up to $X to close the roof. If its shaded and protected more "regular people" attend the games cause its more entertainment then football obsession.

As long as it's not a dome then I don't really care. I hate domes.

Retractable roof sounds like a decent idea after last year.

jeez ive had enough of this. you guys need to lose the female genitalia, daym! football is played outside, football is played in hurricanes, football players beat the heck out of each other for a living, what the hell is with all this sissafying the game. were the dolphins, its warm in miami, we have the freakin sun in our logo! if you cant handle the heat dont go to the games,.save the seats for some real hardcore old school fans whos rather roast themselves on the visitor side than have a ***** a$$ domed or retractable roof, if wayne does that, hes gonna start getting death threats from angry fans im sure. phew i feel better now

I Think It Would Keep The Hurricane Weather Out.....
It Would Be Used More For Events Like Concerts Etc...football Would Be Open Air.....my Guess

I agree with you on eveything except keeping hurricane weather out, many buildings cant stand up to a powerful hurricane, like Hurrcane Andrew ( God I hope that doesn't happen again.)

Yes temperature can be an advantage but not as big as you think,
1.
Everyone practices in the heat in training camp and 90 degrees isn't uncommon anywhere.

2.
Players are from everywhere in the world and know what heat feels like

3.
You can simulate heat preety easily, Cold is another story

4.
In The bills famous home opener against the patriots on Field Temperature was 100+ degrees

Nice theroy but it really doesn't matter

It's not the heat that gets you, it's the humidity, and humidity is harder to simulate then Cold. You cannot really compare the humidity of Miami to the Humidity in Buffalo. Why do you think every year, you see way more player out of breath on the opponents sideline, then on the Dolphins sidelines? It is an advantage......nice try though

Maybe I'm old school, but I like the games when it snows or when it rains, or when its 100 degrees! I've sat threw it all in Miami (minus the snow), a few years back it poured so hard at a game in Miami the aisles were mini waterfalls, and I loved every minute of it! (MY wife hated every minute off it)

So I say no roof! Heck the Vikings should still be playing outside in my eyes!

Not to come off like a wussy but do you want to bring your 2-10 year old child to a game where its 100+ or torrential downpours. Mmm nothing better then watching the game while my son gets pnemonia. You are there to be entertained and watch a good football game, not to be strucken down by the weather. Yes i go to the games yes i get sunburnt, drunk, rained on, and last year i froze my @$$ off a few times. I loved every second of it but as a father theres no way i could take my son to sit through that. A roof (retractable or otherwise) permits this event to become a bigger family event then it already is. More family means more $$ and more money means wayne says YES.

just open the doam when we play in september obviously. OMG could u have not thought of that urself.

the day the dolphins stop playing on natural grass under the natural sun is the day that i stop watching the dolphins. even though i can't go to the games because i live on the west coast, there is just a feeling about being outside. whenever a game is on television indoors, i turn off the channel. it is too dark and stale.

excellent point. i cant watch the Rams or Colts play in their domes. some teams, like the Lions have the new turf that looks a lot like grass but its not the same

theres something to be said about watching that bright sun shine off the home-white uniforms

hes only incorrect because the games are being played in sept/oct and its cooling off up north. but he is right. i live in Connecticut, and it gets hotter up here than you may think. there are numerous days of temp over 90 and humidity over 90%, but thats more in July. not a big deal, but i thought you should know if you didnt

Nice sentiment, but there's no referendum to vote in for this. It's Huizenga's call all the way.

Really?! I would have never guessed! How dumb it is that I always see people like this who like to add that "its not up to us".. Well thanx for the reminder:rolleyes:

No, its just annoying and tell me it isn't a dumb thing to say. Its like the person makes it seem like the person who started the thread was planning on actually making the decision for him. He might as well added "hey, lets not even talk about it because its not our decision."
