MERGED: Schiano & Bucs near deal/Sherman in Miami this morning

Anything is possible. I see a meeting today, dinner tonight, announcement tomorrow, hopefully along with an announcement of Kevin Coyle as DC. :-)

Buccs job is the least attractive opening at the moment. It's really beyond me that a coach would want to go there. Sure they have talent, and Freeman could be a stud, but Freeman is not going to beat Brees nor Matt Ryan.

Schiano has a lot of work to do for them.

Didn't Darren Rizzi coach along side Schiano at Rutgers? No chance they'd come down after him to replace GS as their new head coach would they?

Sherman probably feels like he is being jerked around now that Schiano has entered the picture.
The fact that he flew to Miami is huge. I think it is a done deal.

Would not be surprised at all for him to get the job.

Any chance he gets hired today?
Maybe, probably tomorrow assuming all goes well. Though while he may sign and we will know about it, the team might hold off to "officially" announce it when the entire staff is put in place, which will probably be next week.

It is a possibility. I think he stays. NFL special teams coordinator or HC of Rutgers? Yep...he will stay IMHO.

Nice thanks nubs.....

LOL! I agree, just curious to see the opinions...I thought I remembered him being Schiano's right hand man at Rutgers. So figured GS might throw his name to the higher up's at Rutgers.

Def a suprise that this is happening..I wonder how good a coach he can be..
