I coined asshat in 2003, its mine, give it back:fire:

This forum was talking about the word asshat in 2003 and quite a few said that the word had been around for a few years at that point.

:)

I heard on NFL Network I believe that Frye was doing very poorly in Cleveland and has looked terrible so far. I really doubt Spielman was in the long term plans, as soon as Saban was hired and given final say.

Wow, I really can't wait for training camp. Not that the whole asshat discussion isn't fascinating.

I guess Spielman tends to over-guessimate the quality/worth of the QB's he's watching.

I wonder if Spielman was pushing for us to draft him in the third over Channing Crowder? Wouldn't shock me at all.

Your posts remind me of those school yard crushes where one person never stops insulting another because they really like them. You need to either get over the fact that AJ is on this team and root for him to win since there is nothing that will be done about it this year, or stop bringing your homosexual attraction to feeley onto this board, we don't want to hear about it every 5 f***ing seconds.
aj...is that you??

I sure am glad that Saban didn't listen to Speilman at all during the draft. I dont like Frye anyway and i dont know why the Browns took Frye over Walter.

Does Poole, Hadnot, maybe pape, Pope, Bua in later rounds and the pick up of Welker, Y. Bell and roundtree tell you sometime about the man's ability to recognized talent...??? Saban lost a good eye that he could have used for later round draft picks, especially once Saban is removed from college in a couple of years and don't know all the players as well as he did his first draft.

That's why the Browns are the Browns.

I know it is popular vernacular, but how does Straw break a camel's back?

If he can't throw, the one thing that he has to fall back on is that the guy is hot.

And I remember Spielman being so enamored with Orlovsky during the college season but his workouts weren't good and he fell. Saban has said he thought of taking a QB but other teams would snatch them up right before or after they would make their pick. I wouldn't have minded grabbing Orlovsky if we could have but I think Alabi will turn out to be a steal in the 5th round. I live in Texas and the "experts" around here couldn't believe no one noticed Alabi's talent until he was chosen by the Phins' in the 5th.

South Park had it on their show back in '97. :)

Anyway, Spielman has yet to show that he is any sort of great judge of quarterbacks. The only thing he almost got right was Drew Brees. And it took Brees four years and Philip Rivers to look like an actual NFL QB. Nobody would have blamed us or SD for cutting bait prior to 2004.

Except that, being honest now, Yeremiah Bell is barely starter's quality if not less than starter's quality, Tony Bua is a special teams player only, Wes Welker is a gifted returner but just that a returner, Rex Hadnot showed promise as a starter but isn't even quite mediocre as a starter yet, Derrick Pope may have merely been taking advantage of Zach's position as the Rome Linebacker (all roads lead to Rome), and Tony Pape is an NFL Europe designee. And, a blind monkey could have seen the value in Will Poole in the 4th round when the guy had been predicted a first rounder right up until a few weeks before the draft.

Rick Spielman has stocked the cupboard with a bunch of depth players during his time in Miami. I think I read that not a single player he has drafted or helped to draft here has made the pro bowl. That is awful.

He's a grunt, an organizer. He can do work that you set him to do, he can take direction that you provide, but he did not belong as a decision maker, he did not belong as a director of player personnel.

No offense Kevin my man, but sometimes you remind me of Joe Theismann. You've really loved on some scrubalicious dolphins depth players in your time. I mean, hey, we're all guilty of it, we're homers, but still man gotta take a step back every now and then.
