MERGED:Steelers D... A Good Test For Gus!/Steelers looked tough so...

Maybe THAT's part of the reason AJ is losing the competition... A QB has to keep his cool and make good decisions even in a frustrating situation... Just because things aren't going a QB's way doesn't give him cart blanche to make bad decisions.

That is a good point and I do agree with you on that one!

we need to play smash mouth big time. .
I'm almost sure you will. Saban will give Brown all the snaps he needs. You won't have RW the 1st 4 games.

Right, and it's not just the games, it's the practices, and it has been said he (AJ) is not the best practice player.

I think it's been fair, I just don't think AJ took the Bull by the Horns and earned it. I really think it's that simple.

I'm willing to see what he does sat, but if he stays the same, then he does not deserve it.

At sometime, we the fans have to realize, he had the biggest chance of his life coming into this year, and so far he is letting a journey man QB beat him out. It's all up to AJ!

Speaking of Gus beaing a "journey man qb", was Rich Gannon not considered a "Journey man QB" until he got with Oakland and started kicking a$$?

Believe it or not for Brown holding out on us as long as he did I kind of hope Farrior introduces himself to Ronnie for ME personaly..Kind of one of those welcome to the NFL rookie moments.Don't get me wrong guys I just hate rookie holdouts getting more cash than most of our veteran starters, he better be worth it if you get my drift.

Yes, and I'm not saying that can't happen, I'm just saying AJ has had his chances, and he is the one to blame, and he has no one else to blame. (Except RS for trading a 2nd round pick and having him live up to it)

But I also don't see Gus becoming a Gannon.

that wasn't his fault. if anything you should hope that Mueller is on the sidelines and bettis bullrushes him by accident.

True but to me it makes him look greedy and un-caring..(I know if we were in the same shoes type stuff but were NOT.. ) We need him bad and he's missed alot of valuable camp and game time..that's what I'm ticked about. It put him behind schedule with the rest of team.

I hope Bettis hits Mueller so hard his face print is stuck to the front of his jersey..with that oh *hit look!:rofl3:

Look, I was never really a big Feeley fan, but I was willing to give him a chance, but that's just wrong! :shakeno:

cringe ..OUCH!!
The way it's been going somebody is going to lose their QB job soon with or without the snapped leg..injuries happen though you could get you're wish against the Steelers..that D looked nasty last night.

I agree, I think AJ has gotten a fair enough shake...

But for that matter did anyone see Gannon becomming "a Gannon"? The point is that he did well in Minnesota, and given the cahnce, in the right system he could be a perfect "system QB" which was all Rich Gannon really was.

In my eyes, Feeley has done nothing this preseason to secure himself a roster spot. He has been very disappointing for a guy we have up a 2nd for. He has been given every opportunity and every benefit of the doubt. He needs to step it up soon.

I'm being a realist. The competition is still open. He has to know that and seize the opportunity.

id still rank the pitt D ahead of theirs... and gus really didn't do well (yes he outperformed AJ before someone comes in here and tries to make it an AJ/Gus thread)... i think gus really needs to get his accuracy down cause im starting to get worried about that if hes the starter...

My thought is that Pittsburgh has a better pass rush than JAX, that's why JAX went and got help at the DE position, but overall, the front 7 of JAX seems better than Pitts' front 7.
