Merged: Steve Slaton released by Texans, signed by Fins

I was thinking this would be a great move if we can get him.. Sets us up pretty nicely for the next regime.

You think Slaton can run between the tackles? We don't run a ZBS like Houston does, I have a hard time thinking he'll do anything here. I give the over/under on his release 2 weeks.

I'm more interested in who we released to make room for the 5th RB on our roster.
Only RB in the league that fails in a ZBS.

7 fumbles in his last season of significant playing time. Note that was only 11 games. If he runs high and tight, good for us.

Don't we only have 4 RBs on roster? We cut LJ.

Thomas, Bush, Hilliard, Slaton.

He does fumble, but as insurance to Bush and Thomas, it's fine. We could even split him out wide like Reggie

He's a good player when healthy, which is a tall order for this offensive line developed by an offensive line "guru."

Lol.

This is a good pick up in terms of what we're looking to do, lose.
I dunno, he's clearly better than Colombo. But so is Columbo.

Look at that technique!

We picked up his 1.2 mil contract... seriously? Why do we have Reggie Bush? What role does Slaton have on this team?

This is a strange move. I like Slaton and this would have been a nifty pick up last year. But to spend that kind of cash for someone who does what Reggie is supposed to be doing... I don't get it. If we have that money to throw around why didn't we address the oline...
