Proctor traded to Dodgers for W. Betemit.

ESPN reporting...no official link, but this is the same trade we attempted several times.

Analysis: Betemit would likely play first base for the remainder of this season and he'd be a backup plan if Alex Rodriguez leaves the Yankees in free agency this offseason. He'll be an excellent pickup in AL-only play, in that park and with that lineup surrounding him. He's not going to hit for average, but he will knock in some runs.

I find that interesting....
 
Oh boy... with Gagne going to the Red Sox... it is going to be real tough to pick up any games on them...

Think of the positive to that deal, would you rather have Gagne going to the Red Sox when the Yanks are 8 games back or Cleveland/Detroit when they're only 4 games back with Joe Blowoski or Todd Jones closing games?

There not catching Boston!!!! . Only 3 out of the wild card. Stop chasing the division. Just get in the playoffs. That's all that matters. Once your in, division title means nothing. Home field means nothing.

Boston has the division won. Up 8 games with about 8 weeks to play. And still with 12 left vs TB. No way they are going to lose the division. The Indians and Seattle are dying fast here. Seattle had a 7 game losing streak till they saw the A's. Now LAA is thumping them tonight! Unless they are playing Oakland a bunch more their in trouble. The Indians are 3-7 in their last ten. They are fading at a record rate. If NY can just beat who they are supposed to beat. Then play the good teams even, the playoffs are very very much in sight.

Don't worry about Boston people!! The Sox won the division. Unless Tampa turns into the Big Red Machine overnight and thumps the Sox a bunch in the next 8 weeks, no way Boston is going to blow this.

Tonight, Yanks win. Cleveland and Seattle lose!! CHA CHING!!!!!

I'd rather see Cle/Det win the WS than Boston and w/ this move it's going to be very difficult to beat you guys in october.
