Redskins | Could Package Deal to Move Up to No. 2 Pick
Fri, 22 Apr 2005 11:06:32 -0700

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins could offer their two first-round draft choices (No. 9 and No. 25 overall) along with WR Rod Gardner to the Miami Dolphins for the No. 2 overall draft choice.

Dolphins | Eager to Trade Down
Fri, 22 Apr 2005 11:06:24 -0700

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports league sources have said the Miami Dolphins are eager to deal the No. 2 overall pick in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft and will continue discussions with several teams as the start of the draft Saturday, April 23, approaches.

Buccaneers | To Move Up for Brown?
Fri, 22 Apr 2005 10:45:25 -0700

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports two league sources have indicated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are looking to trade up in the NFL draft to select Auburn RB Ronnie Brown.

Cowboys | Not Ruling Out Trade Up
Fri, 22 Apr 2005 10:40:28 -0700

Todd Archer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would not dismiss the idea of trading up with either of their first-round draft choices (No. 11 and No. 20 overall) if they are targeting a specific player and the price is right. "We've gone through some scenarios where we might move up a little bit with that 20th pick," Jones said, "and that first [11th] pick. If a premium is being paid for people to come up, I wouldn't be interested in moving up. If there's good value if people are trying to move down, and we had the opportunity to get a player, we might move that up."

If we do get the Redskin's pick, can we just cut gardner, that guy is doo-doo.

I don't want to trade down beyond #7.....

It's too risky to go down that far, and then miss out on an immediate impact player. Trading with Tampa or Minnesota is our best option. Screw the Skinz, they have nothing we want / need in terms of picks or players IMO....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

If the Skins do trade up I hear its to get Alex Smith, not Braylon Edwards.

I guess Joe Gibbs doesn't know how to evaluate quarterbacks huh Pete?

You'd think he'd just grab Lefors with a later pick.:D

The bucs want Brown??? No, they are suppose to want Caddy!

the Skins deal sux. Gardner is useless. 9 and 25 for 2 doesn't do it and they don;t have many other picks, this year or next, to balance out a trade. and I agree, trading beyond 7 is not smart at this point.

I believe Saban will convince several teams that at #2 he is prepared to pick "their guy" right at the moment of decision. He will have several options to select from to acquire more picks.

I feel even stronger in this opinion now that we have a 2nd round pick. Saban will trade down in Round 1 and possibly accumulate a 2nd 1st round pick (may even trade that when time comes) and pick up more 2nd and 3rd-5th rounders this year.

So jazzed for tomorrow and sunday to see all this take place.

If they are looking to trade up to get Smith then they wouldnt mind throwing in Ramsey instead of Gardner!

thats nice, but Saban isn't going to draft an immediate impact player just because you want him to. He said that he'd pick the best long-term investment....he made no requirement that he'd have an immediate impact

All the better. That means they can send us Ramsey instead of Gardner. That would really psyche me up. No QB's talent has been criminally wasted like Ramsey's has been by Spurrier and Gibbs.

my friends we are in the driver's seat. the 49ers will select aaron rodgers and we will have plenty of trade down offers to choose from.
