Merged: Things are heating up....smells like trade cooking./Skins trade?

the Skins deal sux. Gardner is useless. 9 and 25 for 2 doesn't do it and they don;t have many other picks, this year or next, to balance out a trade. and I agree, trading beyond 7 is not smart at this point.

But we don't make that decision...maybe Saban has a plan afterall.

Or trade him.

or keep him he put up 51 rec. for 650 yrd and 5tds and hes almost in the prime of his career, he put up better stats then thompson and booker(booker is still better WR tho) he could be good u dont know

regardless of who the Skins trade with (assuming that they even do), they are totally screwing up the future of that franchise.

In 2 years or so, they are going to be somewhere near 40 million over the cap. They will have no draft picks, and Sean Taylor and LaVar are giving them big problems......my god I'm glad I'm not a Skins fan

For the Skins to be able to trade for the #2, they're going to have to give up the first two picks this year, their #1 next year and another first day pick next year.

With the Surtain deal in place, if the Skins offered that, and Minnesota doesn't counter with a better offer, I think Saban takes it.

Man this all depends on what else redskins offer with those two 1st rd's, value chart would mean they need more than what vikings needed

thats nice, but Saban isn't going to draft an immediate impact player just because you want him to. He said that he'd pick the best long-term investment....he made no requirement that he'd have an immediate impact

Thats true...but I would think Merriman, spear or Clayton would be available at those picks and make an impact too.

They DON'T HAVE A #1 NEXT YEAR!

9 is not that risky.

Chicago, Tampa Bay, Minnesota are the ones interested in a RB and Arizona. That being considered Chances are we still get one of the big 3 running backs. Tampa Bay is considering receiver. Minnesota will most likely pick a receiver. And Arizona is more likely to go with a CB. There is a slight risk that we dont get a big 3 running back. But I think more than likley one will end up being on the board at the 9th spot.

Hmmm...maybe Sean Taylor comes home?

9 + 25 + Gardner would be good enough. I'd rather make a deal with Tampa or Minny, but if that doesn't happen, we could move down with the Skins.

If the Skins do trade up I hear its to get Alex Smith, not Braylon Edwards.

I guess Joe Gibbs doesn't know how to evaluate quarterbacks huh Pete?

You'd think he'd just grab Lefors with a later pick.:D

Actually, No I dont.. Did you SEE his handchosen QB play last year? Brunnel is going to be a 50 million dollar backup this year.

id take that washington deal... gardner would be a great 3rd WR in a 3 wide set... hes got talent....

and if arizona makes that henry deal a RB could drop to 9, either one of the big 3 or mike williams could be there... id be happy with either...

Or it could be you wishfull thinking. ON ESPN Mike and Mike, Kiper Golic and Greeny were talking about skins trading up for Smith, they all said it was hogwash. That they had to make their run soon and qb didnt help them right now. They said Gibbs isnt coaching for 2007 and Cerrato didnt have that long. They said if they trade up it is for Edwards who was immediate impact.

They wouldn't trade Taylor. But Arrington is at least within the realm of possibility (however unlikely). I have no idea how that might work cap-wise, though.

Oh man, if that happened, I'd go bananas, but I know it won't. Sean Taylor will be the centerpiece of the Redskin D for years to come.
