Merged: Things are heating up....smells like trade cooking./Skins trade?

Overall he might be a better product due to his hands and blocking, but running wise, Caddy is better.... and Kiper agrees with that. This is a RB we are talking about, not a WR. Caddy can learn to block and catch, ROnnie cant learnt o run with better vision, its not a teachable trait.

Ronnie doesn't need to learn to run with better vision. He's already great at it.

I don't want to trade down beyond #7.....

It's too risky to go down that far, and then miss out on an immediate impact player. Trading with Tampa or Minnesota is our best option. Screw the Skinz, they have nothing we want / need in terms of picks or players IMO....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

You beat me to it.The Skins have being trying to trade Gardner for a couple of years now.He is not a good fit here IMO.

Redskins | Could Package Deal to Move Up to No. 2 Pick - from www.KFFL.com

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins could offer their two first-round draft choices (No. 9 and No. 25 overall) along with WR Rod Gardner to the Miami Dolphins for the No. 2 overall draft choice.

****I would love this deal!

We would have tons of options, with these picks and the newly acquired pick from KC. Rod Gardner would be a good 3rd WR with Chambers and Booker. Bye Gilmore!

At #9 pick up Caddy, who at #25??? Ive been saying if we got 7/18 I would want Caddy/Clayton, but Clayton wont be there at 25, and with Gardener we wouldnt need him. So who would you want?

I'd like to get #9, 25 and Patrick Ramsey. The guy is a talent but needs some stable coaching.

Make that 9, 25, and Santanna Moss. The Redskins and Jets have no love lost between each other anyway, so what would Gibbs care?

I rather have the 9 and 25....but if you throw in Sean Taylor...it wouldn't make me unhappy.

I would mind that at all either...

I think it would be a great trade for us..

Arrington and their (2) first round picks for our #2 and our 3rd round pick. Now thats a trade.

I used to think so too but now I think 9 would be fine....it might change our picks from offensive to defensive but that is all right with me as long as we are getting high value guys. If Williams or one of the running backs falls to 9 then we go back to the idea of getting a top offensive guy who many predicted would go in the top 5 and then we have also added a possible impact player on defense with the 25th pick like spears. I think one of the top offensive guys slipping to 9 is quite likely. A lot of the so called experts are suggesting that many teams in the 5 to 10 range seem to be moving defensive from the previously predicted offensive picks.

and add 3rd or 4th rounder. What is Gardner's value on open market. He was up for trade to vikings and a couple of other teams earlier this year?

That deal stinks. I hate the Skinz, but besides that, those picks aren't enough to make the trade. They would have to up the offer, and they don't have anything we want or need....

We'd be much better off at #7 and #18 trading with Minnesota....

I want nothing to do with a Skinz trade....

PHINZ RULE!!!

I said "9, 25, and Santanna Moss." Are you saying you would rather have 9+25, and you would refuse Santanna?

I can't believe the first few comments I read are "Can we cut Gardner" "he is doo-doo"

Please....do you people even watch football?? Don't fall into the BS trap that the Redksin brass (Snyder!) is saying about him. I see many Redskin games here and Gardner can play WR. I'd say he can ball as good as Booker...and sure as hell a lot more than Boston had/has recently. Don't hate on him just because he was a high draft choice and didn't pan out to be TO or Chad Johnson. That's why Washington wants rid of him, they are miffed at their own self. We would be getting a great deal if we got 9 + 25 + Gardner. WR is completely out of our need.

If the deal comes to pass with the redskins...we won't need a running back...we'll be getting Larry Johnson from the Chiefs...along with their 15th pick.
